Apple has released a newer iOS 27.1 build for the iPhone Duo, which means buyers will install a software update during initial setup. MacRumors reports that the foldable ships with iOS 27.1 build 24A94232, while Apple has since released build 24A94425.
This new version of iOS 27 is exclusive to the Duo. The outlet expects units to reach reviewers on the older build and suggests Apple released the newer one to fix bugs while reviewers evaluate the phone.
Which build buyers get
The launch is nine days away, so the update path may change. MacRumors says Apple has time to issue another iOS 27.1 build or even iOS 27.2, which could replace 24A94425 before customers unbox their phones. Either way, setup will require an update.
Apple has shipped day-one-style fixes before. iOS 27.0.1 arrived shortly after launch with a Face ID fix for the iPhone 18 Pro line.
Dates for UAE buyers
Apple’s announcement lists the UAE among the countries where pre-orders begin on 4PM Friday, October 16, with availability from Friday, October 23.
