Google is rolling out conversational AI voice features in Gmail, Google Docs and Google Keep, giving eligible Google AI subscribers a way to search emails, draft documents and organise notes by speaking. Gmail Live is available on Android and iOS for Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra subscribers, while Docs Live and Keep Live require Pro or Ultra.

The features are now generally available to paying subscribers after beta testing. TechCrunch reports that Google first previewed them at I/O in May, while Engadget adds that Keep Live is currently Android-only.

Google Gemini voice features Gmail Docs Keep: what each app can do

Gmail Live lets users ask questions about their inbox in natural language instead of digging through search results. It can answer questions about messages, show a live transcript and link back to the emails used for its response. Users can interrupt the conversation and ask a follow-up question, according to Engadget.

Docs Live works as a voice-led drafting assistant. Users can describe an idea or dictate an outline, then ask Gemini to organise the material and refine the document. With permission, it can pull relevant information from Gmail, Drive, Chat and the web.

Keep Live is aimed at quick notes and lists. A spoken stream of thoughts can be turned into an organised note, while a request such as ingredients for a recipe can produce a checklist without the user spelling out every item.

Who can use Google Gemini voice features in the UAE?

Google says the features are rolling out in English to Google AI subscribers on mobile. Gmail Live covers Plus, Pro and Ultra plans; Docs Live and Keep Live are limited to Pro and Ultra. Google also says Workspace business customers will get access soon, but the sources do not give a separate UAE business rollout date.

That makes the features available to eligible subscribers in the UAE where the rollout reaches their accounts, but Google has not published a UAE-specific price for these tools. Existing Google AI coverage includes a free Google AI Plus year for UAE university students.

Google’s broader push into voice also includes Gemini 3.5 Transcribe, a speech-to-text model announced in August. The new app features are less about dictation alone: they let Gemini search, structure and act on information across Workspace, subject to the permissions the user grants.
