UAE University Students: Free Google AI Plus — Who Qualifies

Eligible university students in the UAE can claim one free year of Google AI Plus — Gemini Omni, higher usage limits and 400GB of storage — then pay the regular Plus rate unless they cancel before the trial ends.

Google announced the student plans on 19 August 2026. Outside the US, eligible college students get Google AI Plus (not Pro). Google’s Google One student-offer help page lists the United Arab Emirates among supported countries for student offers, and its student offer blog post confirms AI Plus in more than 140 markets where the plan is available. Claim and verify at one.google.com/ai-student through SheerID. Tbreak has previously covered Gemini Notebook usage limits and Gemini video tools.

Eligibility for google ai plus uae university students

Under Google One’s student-offer rules, you generally need to:

• Be a student at a higher-education institution in a country or region where Google AI Plus is supported (Google’s support list includes the United Arab Emirates; the blog excludes Albania, Bolivia, Canada, Hong Kong, Macau, Tunisia and the US from the AI Plus free-year framing).
• Verify student status through SheerID using a valid school email address.
• Have a personal Google Account with a qualifying form of payment at sign-up.

New and existing Google One members can be eligible. Family group members usually need to leave a shared plan first. Memberships through third-party partners, Pixel Pass or Google Fi are not eligible. School-issued accounts are not the path for this consumer student offer — use a personal Google Account.

How to redeem the free year

Google’s claim flow is short:

1. Open one.google.com/ai-student on your device.
2. Select the student offer shown for your account and region (AI Plus outside the US).
3. Complete SheerID verification when prompted.
4. Finish the subscription steps, including a qualifying payment method if you do not already have one on file.

Google’s offer terms say you must redeem by 31 December 2026. A payment method is required at sign-up even though the first 12 months are free of charge during the trial. You can cancel before the trial ends if you do not want the paid conversion.

What is included versus the paid plan

For eligible students outside the US, the free year is Google AI Plus. Google’s student blog lists Gemini Omni, 2x higher usage limits in Gemini (compared with non-AI subscribers) and 400GB of storage. That is separate from the US-only free year of Google AI Pro (higher limits, Gemini Spark, 5TB storage and more).

Student study tools in the Gemini app — including the student hub, study notebooks, personalised quizzes and interactive visualisations — are part of Google’s back-to-school rollout. With permission, Gemini can also pull exam and assignment dates from a syllabus into Google Calendar. Usage limits still apply.

When the free year ends, Google says Google AI Plus automatically moves to $4.99 per month or the local-currency equivalent unless cancelled earlier (except where consent rules require otherwise). Recurring add-ons such as upgraded storage, Google Home Premium and Google Health Premium are unavailable with a Google One student offer, according to Google’s help page.

Before you sign up, skim the live offer at gemini.google/students and the Google One student help article — regional plan cards can differ between AI Plus and AI Pro.
