Disney+ has greenlit a new Darkwing Duck Disney+ animated series, with Mark Hamill voicing Drake Mallard and Seth Rogen playing Launchpad McQuack. The new show brings the crime-fighting duck back after more than 30 years, although this time he has an alternate-universe problem to solve.
Darkwing Duck Disney+: a new cast and a strange starting point
The series follows Darkwing after 35 years trapped in an alternate world where nobody has heard of his heroic exploits. A rebellious teenager named Duckie, who knows his history, pulls him back into action. The pair will face old enemies including Negaduck and Megavolt, while reuniting with Launchpad, Gosalyn and Morgana.
Hamill leads the new voice cast as Darkwing, replacing Jim Cummings, who voiced the character in the original series. Rogen plays Launchpad, with Lizzy Caplan as Gosalyn Mallard and Lilimar as Duckie. The wider cast includes Dan Stevens, Tiffany Shepis, Kathryn Newton, Teo Briones, Tyler Dean Flores, Katie Rich and Nat Faxon.
Disney Television Animation is producing the series. Sean Tretta and Borja Peña Gorostegui are executive producers, while Rogen, Evan Goldberg and the Point Grey Pictures team are producing. Original creator Tad Stones consulted on the new show.
When will the new Darkwing Duck series stream?
