Anthropic has folded Claude Cowork into the main Claude experience and launched Claude Docs and Slides in beta, giving paid users a way to create editable documents and presentations without leaving a conversation.

The update is rolling out to Pro and Max users on web, desktop and mobile over the coming weeks. Team and Free plans are due to follow, while Enterprise administrators will control when the tools arrive for their organisations.

Claude Docs and Slides put the work in the chat

Claude Docs can create a document from a prompt, then let the user edit it directly or invite collaborators. Anthropic says the documents can also be exported to Google Docs or Microsoft Word. Claude Slides follows the same pattern for presentations, with editing, presenting and downloads to PowerPoint or PDF.

The tools are built around a shareable link. Users can open the work on a phone, select an element to move it, or ask Claude to change it. Comments can come from collaborators or Claude itself, which keeps the review process in the same place as the first draft.

That joins Claude Design and Artifacts in one interface. Anthropic says Claude can work out which capability a task needs, rather than asking users to decide whether a request belongs in Chat, Cowork or Design before they begin.

One Claude takes aim at Google Workspace

The move brings Claude closer to Google Gemini’s Workspace position. Google already lets Gemini create and edit documents and build presentations inside Docs and Slides, while Anthropic has generally been competing from the assistant side rather than through a full office suite.

Claude’s approach is less about replacing every office application and more about keeping the first draft, revisions and exports together. The practical difference will come down to how well the generated files survive outside Claude, and how much control teams get over sharing and administration.

Anthropic’s announcement is linked from its product blog, while The Verge’s report shows the Docs and Slides interfaces. Reuters also reports on the rollout.

For UAE teams, the immediate question is access rather than local pricing. Anthropic has not announced a UAE-specific rollout schedule in the launch material; Pro and Max subscribers should see the tools as the staged release reaches their accounts.

The company is also bringing more of its workflow into Claude itself. That makes its existing Claude Design tools and Semrush connector more relevant to the same conversation-first pitch, rather than separate destinations users need to remember.
