Anthropic has added two tools to Claude: Dashboards, which builds live charts from company data, and Motion, which turns prompts into short animated explainers. Both launched in beta on 8 October, according to Anthropic’s announcement.
Anthropic also took Claude Docs, Slides and Design out of beta. They’re now available on every plan, including Free.
What Dashboards does
Claude Dashboards connects to a data platform such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks or Snowflake. It also works with other connectors, so you can ask for a dashboard of Salesforce opportunities. You ask a question in plain language, and Claude builds the dashboard and keeps it current as the data changes.
Anthropic pitches it at quick, exploratory questions, such as how this week’s signups compare with last month’s. You can click any number to see the query behind it, and each chart shows when its data was last refreshed. When a question needs deeper work, you can send the dashboard to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma. Looker, monday.com and Tableau are listed as coming soon.
Dashboards is in beta on paid plans.
What Motion does
Claude Motion builds an animation from a prompt, such as a 30-second explainer from a quarterly report, a chart with motion for a board deck, or a product walkthrough for onboarding. It plays like a short video, and you can edit it in the editor or ask Claude to change it, then download it as an MP4.
Motion doesn’t use a video generation model. Claude writes code that animates your text, charts, shapes and images, so you can change any word, number or timing. That means no generated footage and no AI-generated people. You can also open the result in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI or Runway, with Canva and Captions coming soon.
Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise plans only. As The Verge reports, the output is a short video you can download. Reuters adds that the launch comes as AI companies compete to broaden their workplace productivity suites.
Availability and admin controls
| Feature | Status | Plans |
|---|---|---|
| Claude Dashboards | Beta | Paid plans |
| Claude Motion | Beta | Team and Enterprise |
| Claude Docs, Slides, Design | Generally available | All plans, including Free |
On Enterprise, admins must switch on Dashboards and Motion in Organization settings > Artifacts. Docs, Slides and Design turn on by default on 15 October, or admins can enable them earlier.
Anthropic also made several changes to its other tools:
- Artifacts now support customer-managed encryption keys (CMEK), and admins choose which templates their organisation uses.
- Teams can edit a doc, deck, design or dashboard together with Claude.
- Slides, designs, dashboards and animations can be shared outside the organisation or via link, if an admin allows it.
- PowerPoint and PDF exports keep their formatting, and decks go to Google Slides as editable files.
- Docs, decks and designs can be edited in the Claude mobile app.
Anthropic says people have made more than 45 million docs, decks and designs in Claude.
Claude Design is moving
The standalone Claude Design site is closing, since Design has worked inside every Claude conversation since 16 September. It stays at claude.ai/design until 14 December. Teams can migrate design systems from the Artifacts page. Chats and comments on projects stay in the standalone version and won’t carry over, and public links to standalone projects stop working when it closes.
What it means for GCC teams
Anthropic’s announcement doesn’t mention regional availability or separate pricing, and we haven’t confirmed whether the beta features are live for UAE accounts. Access depends on your plan. For companies already on Team or Enterprise with data in Snowflake, BigQuery or Salesforce, the tools are an easy way to test whether plain-language dashboards cut down analyst requests. Because Dashboards shows the query behind each number, it’s possible to check Claude’s work before sharing.
