The laptop deals worth your money

The MacBook Air M5 (13-inch, 16GB, 512GB) is at AED 4,999 on Amazon.ae against a AED 5,499 list price. It is still the student default: all-day battery, silent, no charger drama. If an M5 MacBook Air is on the list, our MacBook for students guide settles the Air-versus-Neo-versus-Pro question, and the setup guide covers the first hour.

Tablets: Honor’s campaign is the story

The Honor Pad X9b Max leads Honor’s UAE back-to-school campaign at from AED 999 (Amazon.ae has the 4+128 config at AED 945.96). It is a 13-inch 2.5K 120Hz panel with a 10,100mAh battery and up to 18GB of combined RAM, and the Paperlike edition ships with a keyboard in the box. For note-taking and lectures it is hard to beat at that price.

The Honor Pad 10 at AED 1,349 with a voucher and keyboard included is the family pick; the Pad X8b at from AED 619 is the budget one. Honor’s offers run to August 31 across its e-shop and retailers, per Review Central ME.

Headphones and earbuds

Honor’s Earbuds 4 are AED 169 during the campaign: 50dB hybrid ANC, AI call noise cancellation and up to 46 hours of battery. Amazon.ae’s sale separately cuts up to 45% off Bose, JBL, Anker and UGREEN audio, which is where the over-ear noise-cancelling money goes if lectures are in shared rooms.

Sonos is running its own back-to-school offer to August 30, up to 20% off portable speakers and headphones, and Amazon.ae prices already reflect it. The Sonos Ace headphones are AED 1,479 against a AED 1,849 list, and the Sonos Roam 2 portable speaker is AED 652 against AED 849. The Ace is the over-ear pick if the budget runs to it; the Roam 2 survives dorm life. The Anker Zolo power bank, 10,000mAh with a built-in USB-C cable, is AED 99 on Amazon.ae against a AED 149 list — the accessory that stops the phone dying between lectures and the library.

Phones: Apple and Honor both have live deals

On Amazon.ae right now, the iPhone 17 Pro Max (256GB) is AED 4,699 against a AED 5,099 list, and the iPhone 17 Pro (256GB) is AED 4,299 against AED 4,699. Honor’s X9d (12+256) drops to AED 1,349 with a AED 150 voucher and six months of accidental damage protection. The iPhone prices matter more than usual this month: Apple raised iPhone 17 prices on Monday, per tbreak’s earlier coverage, so the discount partly gives back the increase.

One printer earns its place: the HP Smart Tank 795 is AED 999 on Amazon.ae against a AED 1,349 list price. Ink-tank printers keep the cost per page down, and every assignment eventually comes home to be printed.

Student extras that stack

Sharaf DG’s back-to-school run (to September 13) adds 5% off for students and teachers on Windows laptops priced AED 3,000 and above, capped at AED 200 — Grade 12 and up, ID verified — plus a daily draw that refunds one buyer’s purchase value up to AED 5,000, 43 winners in total. Emax has student pricing on select models. Microsoft 365 Personal and Family each carry AED 100 off at Emax when bought with any laptop. Amazon.ae splits payments four ways with Tabby or via 0% bank instalments. Full terms on Sharaf DG’s offers page.

What to buy now, and what can wait

If the list is a laptop or tablet, the price is unlikely to improve after August 23 — Amazon.ae’s main week is the widest selection, Honor’s campaign ends August 31, and Emax’s catalogue ends August 20. Sharaf DG runs longest, to September 13, so that one can wait. The one check before checkout: UAE version versus international stock, and the warranty that comes with each.

Last year’s back-to-school laptop roundup is still up if you want the 2025 baseline, and the MacBook Air M5 versus MacBook Neo comparison covers the AED 2,000 question for students who can stretch.
