Apple may raise iPhone 17 prices on Monday — before the iPhone 18 Pro even lands

A Weibo leaker says iPhone 17 prices could rise on Monday, 10 August. Here's what the lineup costs in the UAE right now — and what's coming next.

Apple could raise iPhone 17 prices as soon as Monday, 10 August, according to a Weibo leaker — the first iPhone price increase since Apple started passing on soaring memory-chip costs in June.

Fixed Focus Digital, an account that 9to5Mac describes as well connected, said “rumors are circulating” that iPhone 17 pricing changes on 10 August. The leaker was noncommittal about whether prices will actually move, and gave no amounts. Apple has announced nothing.

The same post claimed, with more confidence, that Apple has shelved plans to raise production capacity on some lines from 15% to 30% — without saying which lines or components.

Apple has form here. On 25 June it raised prices across most of its lineup — MacBook Air up $200, iPad up $100, Vision Pro up $200 — while leaving the iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods untouched. CEO Tim Cook told The Wall Street Journal the increases were “unavoidable” amid a memory and storage chip shortage he called a “hundred-year flood.”

The iPhone 17 is set to remain Apple’s mainstream option well into next year, with the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e not due until spring 2027. That gives Apple reason to adjust its price independently of the new lineup. The iPhone 18 Pro and Apple’s first foldable iPhone arrive next month, with a wider round of increases expected alongside them.
