Will Apple charge for Siri AI?
Apple has not announced a separate Siri AI subscription, but CEO Tim Cook says iCloud+ will offer upgrade options for people who use Apple’s AI heavily.
During Apple’s latest earnings call, Cook said he expects people to use Apple Intelligence and the upcoming Siri AI “a lot”. He added: “we will have some kind of upgrade possibilities on iCloud Plus where people can buy up the stack.”
The Verge reported Cook’s remarks as a signal that users may be able to pay for higher AI usage limits. Apple has not detailed what those upgrades include, how much they will cost, or whether they require new iCloud+ tiers.

The thing is, iCloud+ has traditionally been an easy purchase to understand: pay monthly and receive a stated amount of storage alongside cloud and privacy features. AI allowances introduce a less transparent unit of value. Until Apple publishes exact limits for each plan, customers cannot calculate what an upgrade buys beyond the reassuringly vague concept of “more”.

Siri AI is set to launch broadly with iOS 27 this fall, bringing a standalone chat interface, awareness of on-screen content, and actions across apps.

How much does iCloud+ cost in the UAE?

These are the existing storage plans and monthly prices shown by Apple Support UAE’s iCloud+ pricing page. They are not dedicated Siri AI prices, and Apple has not said whether future AI upgrades will use these same tiers or add other options.
For UAE customers, the practical question is therefore not whether iCloud+ can already be purchased; it can. The unanswered question is how much extra Siri AI access each paid plan provides, and whether the difference will justify upgrading beyond the storage a customer actually needs.
Why is Apple putting AI access into iCloud+?
Apple is using iCloud+ because it already provides a subscription ladder that can turn heavier AI use into recurring Services revenue.
Apple reported $30.74 billion in Services revenue during its fiscal third quarter. That business includes iCloud+, Apple TV, Apple One, and other subscriptions, making it the obvious home for paid AI allowances.
Bundling higher limits with iCloud+ may also be easier to sell than launching a product explicitly called a Siri AI subscription. Customers receive storage and other cloud features alongside the AI allowance, while Apple can present the higher limit as another benefit of an established plan.
It is a sensible model for covering server costs, and a convenient one for Apple’s subscription business. Both readings can be true. The customer-friendly version will depend on whether Apple publishes clear limits instead of asking users to discover them one rejected prompt at a time.
Should you upgrade iCloud+ for Siri AI now?
You should not upgrade iCloud+ solely for future Siri AI access until Apple publishes the allowances attached to each plan.
Choose among the current UAE plans based on the storage and cloud features you need today. Existing subscribers may receive increased Apple Intelligence access across most plans, but Apple has not provided the detailed tier structure needed to judge the value of moving higher.
Cook’s comment makes Apple’s direction fairly clear: frequent AI use is likely to become another reason to pay more for iCloud+. The limits, tiers, and pricing will decide whether that is a useful option for power users or merely a storage upgrade wearing an AI badge.
