Acer confirmed at IFA 2026 that its first Googlebook is coming soon, and showed a conventional clamshell with a Pixel beside it.
Android Authority reported the teaser from Acer’s Berlin event on 2 September 2026, with no spec sheet and no on-sale date.
Acer Googlebook glimpse: a clamshell and a Pixel
The IFA stills show a dark clamshell, the Acer mark on the bottom bezel, and a Pixel on the desk next to it. Android Authority reads that pairing as the phone-to-laptop story Google already set out for Googlebook, not as a detachable. There is little else to take from the slide. The on-screen line is “coming soon”.
Acer’s IFA newsroom was busy on the same day, and none of it was a Googlebook spec sheet. It launched the 799g Swift Blade 14, the repairable Vero 16, the Predator Atlas 7 handheld and a full relaunch of Packard Bell, plus Iconia, ePaper and Project DualPlay Mini notes. The Googlebook got a slide.
Google named Acer as a launch partner in May, when it introduced Googlebook as a new laptop category built around Gemini and Android phones. tbreak covered that May unveil, a later Lenovo Googlebook 15 leak, and the 15 September New York date.
Prior Acer Googlebook leaks are still unconfirmed
Android Authority’s IFA write-up also repeats earlier leak copy: an Intel Core Ultra 5 chip, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and a 14-inch 120Hz OLED panel. Those figures are prior leaks, not Acer’s IFA sheet. Acer did not confirm them in Berlin.
There is no UAE price and no local on-sale date. tbreak will not invent either.
Next stop is Google’s 15 September event
Google has invited media to a Googlebook event in New York on 15 September 2026. Chrome Unboxed published the invitation. Android Authority bets Acer’s machine could appear there. Acer itself has only said coming soon.
The next dated moment is Google’s Googlebook media event on 15 September 2026 in New York.
