Marvel has named the X-Men movie cast: Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm and Adam Driver as Mister Sinister. Jake Schreier’s film arrives May 5, 2028.
The names came at the end of Kevin Feige’s portion of Disney’s Friday night D23 presentation. Sink, Connor and Weaving had been reported in advance; Abbott, Navarrette and Boyd were new. Feige said the announcement covers “some of the main cast”, which leaves room for the rest.

Sink’s Jean Grey, Connor’s Cyclops, Navarrette’s Rogue and Boyd’s Storm are all young, which points at a First Class-style story with the core four at its centre. Weaving’s Emma Frost is the open question: in the comics she has been both villain and faculty, and Marvel has not said which version this is. Navarrette, who met Schreier earlier this year with her eye on Mystique, lands Rogue instead. Boyd takes the role Chloe Bailey had campaigned for.
Adam Driver is Mister Sinister, not Magneto
Driver’s casting arrived by video, which first teased Magneto before settling on Nathaniel Milbury — one of the many aliases of Mister Sinister. The part of Beast, meanwhile, is vacant: Charles Melton, the oddsmakers’ favourite, dropped out before D23.
Feige has been teasing the mutants’ arrival for a while now, and the X-Men film is part of the slate he outlined through 2042. With a May 2028 date set and a director attached, the movie now has faces to match.
