How can players apply for the Crazy Taxi: World Tour test?
Applications must be submitted through Sega’s official Crazy Taxi: World Tour website before the end of August. According to VGC’s report on the closed network test, the sessions are planned for September 11-13 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
An application does not guarantee entry. Sega says only “a small number of players” will be invited, although it has not disclosed the exact number of places or explained how participants will be selected.
The announcement does not identify country-by-country eligibility. Players should consult the participation terms on the official application page before signing up.
What will the closed network test include?
The test build will offer two online multiplayer modes, two maps, six cars, four playable characters, and several car tune-up options. Sega says the purpose is to assess the stability of the game’s online multiplayer systems before the full release.
Pickup Race supports up to six players, who compete to deliver as many passengers as possible within a time limit while earning “crazy money”. Cops ‘n’ Cabbies divides players into two opposing teams, although Sega has not provided further detail about its rules in the announcement.
Single-player gameplay will be excluded from the test build, but Sega says it will be part of the finished game. Progress from the test will not transfer to the final release, so the September sessions are a limited technical exercise rather than an early head start.
What does the test reveal about Crazy Taxi: World Tour?
The test shows that online multiplayer is a central part of Sega’s current testing priorities for Crazy Taxi: World Tour. Its restricted player pool and focus on network stability also mean the build will provide only a narrow view of the complete game.
Sega has released a new trailer featuring the West Coast map alongside the test announcement. The publisher has not used the announcement to provide a full release date.
Series producer Kanji Kanno recently told VGC that he wants the returning game to help players “smile and have fun”. He also connected the project to Sega’s wider effort to revive its legacy properties, placing Crazy Taxi: World Tour within a broader return to the publisher’s older series.
