The short version of that table: the Fold8 Ultra is the productivity device, with an 8-inch main screen, a 200MP main camera, a 10MP 3x telephoto and a 5,000mAh battery. The standard Fold8 trades screen height for a wider 4:3 panel that suits video and reading, drops to dual 50MP cameras and 4,800mAh, and is the lightest Fold Samsung has made at 201g. The Flip8 is the pocketable one — 180g, 6.1mm unfolded, a 4.1-inch FlexWindow that now runs apps, and Samsung’s Exynos 2600 rather than the Snapdragon in both Folds.
Both Folds are rated IP48. That covers immersion in fresh water, but dust protection is partial — a real consideration in this part of the world.

Which Galaxy foldable should you buy?
Buy the Fold8 Ultra if you work on your phone: two full apps side by side, documents, spreadsheets, and the best camera system in the range.
Buy the Fold8 if you mostly read, watch and game. The 4:3 main display cuts the letterboxing that made video awkward on earlier Folds, and at AED 7,199 it is AED 800 cheaper than the Ultra. Note the overlap — AED 7,999 buys either a 256GB Ultra or a 512GB Fold8.
Buy the Flip8 if pocketability matters more than capability. At AED 4,699 it is the cheapest way into a Samsung foldable, though the standard Fold8 is a far more capable device for AED 2,500 more.
Where to buy in the UAE
Samsung.com, Samsung Experience Stores and authorised retailers including Amazon.ae, Virgin Megastore and Sharaf DG, plus contract plans from the local operators. Prices at third-party retailers can drop below Samsung’s RRP within weeks of launch, which the price blocks above will reflect.
FAQ
When did the Galaxy Z Fold8 series go on sale in the UAE?
General availability began on 7 August 2026, after a pre-order window that ran from 22 July to 6 August.
What is the difference between the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Fold8 Ultra?
The Ultra is taller and narrower with an 8-inch main screen, a 200MP main camera, a 10MP 3x telephoto and a 5,000mAh battery. The standard Fold8 is shorter, wider and lighter, with a 7.6-inch 4:3 main screen, dual 50MP cameras and a 4,800mAh battery.
Does the Galaxy Z Flip8 use the same chip as the Folds?
No. Samsung’s spec sheet lists the Exynos 2600 for the Flip8, while both Folds use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.
Are the Galaxy Z Fold8 phones dust resistant?
Only partially. All three are IP48 rated, which covers water immersion but not full dust protection.
