The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 Trailer Unveils Middle-earth’s Darkest War Yet

The Rings of Power Season 3 teaser shows Middle-earth at war, Sauron pursuing the One Ring, and Simon Pegg voicing the Balrog.

What does The Rings of Power Season 3 teaser reveal?

The Season 3 teaser presents Middle-earth at war, with Sauron’s armies advancing and the remaining free peoples facing an increasingly desperate fight. The official synopsis says five years have passed since the fall of Eregion, giving the story a substantial jump beyond Season 2.

Khazad-dûm is sealed, while Lindon and Rivendell remain protected by the Three Rings. Sauron, meanwhile, is working from his completed tower of Barad-dûr and pursuing the power that could secure his victory: the One Ring.

The sharper focus gives Season 3 a clear dramatic engine. Dwarves, Elves, Men, and Wizards must find common ground before Sauron completes his plan, which should be easy enough given Middle-earth’s famously relaxed history of inter-species diplomacy.

The teaser also shifts the series firmly into its war era. Earlier seasons had kingdoms, grudges, hidden identities, and enough ominous jewellery to concern any sensible insurance company; Season 3 brings those threads together around Sauron’s campaign and the forging of the One Ring.

Is Simon Pegg voicing the Balrog?

Simon Pegg is credited as the voice of the Balrog in the cast information accompanying the Season 3 teaser. The role is newly highlighted by the trailer materials and has not been widely corroborated in earlier cast reporting.

Our sister site IGN Middle East has also covered Simon Pegg’s Balrog voice role. It is unexpected casting, but Pegg knows his way around fantasy, genre storytelling, and creatures with complicated feelings about subterranean architecture.

The listed cast also includes Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Charlie Vickers, Daniel Weyman, and Jamie Campbell Bower. Bower had previously been announced for Season 3, although available reporting has not disclosed his character.

When does The Rings of Power Season 3 premiere?

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 premieres on Prime Video on 11 November 2026. The previously announced November premiere and first look established the date before this Comic-Con teaser supplied the season’s most substantial footage.

Season 3 has eight episodes, with independent reporting on the release schedule indicating that four episodes will arrive on 11 November, followed by two on 18 November and the final two on 25 November. That gives the season a compressed three-week run rather than a conventional one-episode-per-week rollout.

The supplied announcement names Prime Video and the 11 November premiere date, but it does not provide separate confirmation of the UAE schedule. UAE viewers should therefore treat 11 November as the announced platform date rather than a specifically confirmed local release date.

J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay return as showrunners and executive producers. Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and Charlotte Brändström are also executive producers, with Brändström additionally serving as a director.
