The OnePlus 16 could arrive with the biggest battery yet in OnePlus’ numbered flagship range. A new GizmoChina report says leaker Digital Chat Station has shared further details about the unannounced phone, including a battery with around 9,000mAh of typical equivalent capacity.
OnePlus 16 battery leak points to a dual-cell pack
The earlier trial-production report described two 4,390mAh cells, giving a rated combined capacity of 8,780mAh. The figure is expected to be presented as roughly 9,000mAh when expressed as a typical single-cell equivalent. Gadget Hacks also noted the distinction between the rated cell capacity and the rounded marketing figure.
That would put the OnePlus 16 above the 7,300mAh battery reported for the OnePlus 15, although capacity alone does not predict runtime. Display refresh rate, chipset efficiency and software management will all affect how long the phone lasts.
The same leak chain claims support for OPPO’s high-energy battery technology and 100W wired charging. Other reported specifications include a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, a 200MP main camera and a display capable of high refresh rates. Android Authority’s report covers the separate camera leak and likewise stresses that the phone has not been announced.
What has OnePlus confirmed?
Nothing yet. OnePlus has not confirmed the battery capacity, charging speeds, specifications or launch timing. GizmoChina expects a China launch by early October, but that date is also part of the leak rather than an official schedule.
