The OnePlus 16 could bring a 165Hz refresh rate to more system and app scenarios, while supported games may reach 185Hz, according to leaks. The phone is tipped to launch in China around October, but OnePlus has not confirmed the display specifications or a UAE release.
OnePlus 16 display: what the leak claims
According to 91mobiles, tipster Digital Chat Station says the OnePlus 16 will use a BOE Oriental Screen panel with X4 light-emitting material. The panel is expected to keep a flat design with narrow, symmetrical bezels.
The reported 165Hz support would extend beyond the gaming mode found on the current model. That could mean smoother scrolling, animations and touch interactions in more parts of the phone, although the claim remains unconfirmed. Supported games could reportedly push the refresh rate to 185Hz.
91mobiles reports that OnePlus has also confirmed upgrades to its Fengchi Gaming Core, high-refresh-rate technology and e-sports triple-chip system. Those announcements confirm that gaming remains part of the phone’s pitch, not that every game will run at 185Hz.
How the OnePlus 16 could compare with the OnePlus 15
The OnePlus 15 already has a 165Hz 1.5K LTPO display, but OnePlus’s official specifications list 1–120Hz adaptive refresh for general use and 165Hz as the maximum in gaming. It also has a 7,300mAh battery and 3,200Hz instant touch sampling, giving the predecessor a fairly high starting point.

The newer phone is also tipped to use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro and a 200MP main camera, alongside 50MP ultrawide and 3.5x periscope cameras. Those specifications come from the same leak trail and should be treated accordingly.
A wider 165Hz mode would come with a power cost unless the new panel is more efficient. The OnePlus 15’s large battery gives the company room to manage that trade-off, but there is no confirmed battery capacity for the OnePlus 16.
China availability is tipped for October. India, the UAE and other markets have not been confirmed, and there is no UAE price yet. The OnePlus 16 is still a rumour, so the refresh-rate figures may change before launch.
