NVIDIA will release its final GeForce Game Ready Driver that supports Windows 10 in October 2026. From November, Windows 10 users will receive quarterly NVIDIA security updates, but no new Game Ready optimisations or regular game-related fixes.
NVIDIA Windows 10 drivers stop getting Game Ready updates
NVIDIA’s support document says the last Windows 10-compatible Game Ready Driver will arrive in October 2026. The first Game Ready Driver without Windows 10 support is due in November.
The change also applies to NVIDIA Studio Drivers. Supported GeForce hardware will continue receiving quarterly security updates through October 2029, with critical bug fixes included during that period.
The schedule was first reported by Windows Latest and has also been reported by Igor’s Lab.
What Windows 10 gamers need to know
Existing games will not stop working when the final compatible driver is released. A GeForce card will continue to use its installed driver, and NVIDIA’s security-only updates will continue for three years.
The limitation will arrive with newer games and updates. NVIDIA will no longer promise Game Ready optimisations, game-specific fixes or support for new titles on Windows 10. Performance problems may be left unresolved, while Windows 11 users receive the newer driver work.
Microsoft ended standard Windows 10 support in October 2025, although its Extended Security Updates programme runs for longer. NVIDIA’s decision separates operating-system security support from the driver features PC gamers tend to install drivers for in the first place.
UAE gamers can keep using Windows 10 for now, but anyone planning a new gaming-PC build or upgrade should check Windows 11 compatibility rather than treating the older OS as a long-term gaming platform.
For existing systems, there is no immediate requirement to change operating systems. The practical deadline is October 2026, when the final regular driver arrives.
