Lenovo Just Showed a Laptop That Rolls Out Into a 17-Inch Screen

By Abbas Jaffar Ali7 min readSep 3, 2026

Lenovo announced roughly twenty new products at Lenovo Innovation World at IFA 2026 in Berlin, spread across three portfolios: Yoga for creators, Idea for everyday consumers, and Think for business. Two of the most interesting things on stage are not products at all — Project Swan and Project AeroBlade are proof-of-concepts, and neither has a price or a date.

The common thread is on-device AI. Almost every machine here is sold on how much of an AI workload it can run locally rather than in the cloud, and the numbers Lenovo quotes (TOPS ratings, unified memory capacity) are the specs it wants you to compare. Whether buyers in the UAE care about TOPS is another matter; what they will notice is that the Yoga tablets arrive this month, the consumer laptops in October, and several of the monitors not until 2027.

Yoga: RTX Spark laptops and two pen-first tablets

The headline Yoga machines are the Lenovo Yoga Pro 9n (15″, 11) and the Lenovo Yoga 9n 2-in-1 (16″, 11), both powered by NVIDIA RTX Spark. The Pro 9n offers up to 128GB of 9400 MT/s unified memory and is aimed at people running AI models, video edits, and 3D renders locally; Lenovo also pitches it as an RTX gaming laptop, a first for the Yoga Pro line.

The 9n 2-in-1 tops out at 64GB and trades some of that headroom for a 360-degree hinge and a dual-surface pen: you can write on the PureSight Pro OLED panel or on the haptic Force Pad, with the Yoga Pen Gen 2. Lenovo has not announced pricing or availability for either laptop.

The two tablets are dated and priced. The Yoga Tab Plus Gen 2 has a 13-inch 4K PureSight Pro display and a Snapdragon 8 Elite with Qualcomm Oryon CPU, from 849 euros in September 2026. The Yoga Tab Gen 2 is the light one — 11 inches, 480g, MediaTek Dimensity 9500s — from 649 euros, also September. Both ship with Android 17, seven OS upgrades through Android 24, and security updates through 2033, which is a longer support promise than most Android tablets get. Both support the Tab Pen Pro 2 with 8,192 pressure levels, tilt detection and palm rejection, plus gesture shortcuts Lenovo calls Click to Draw, Squeeze to Select and Flip to Erase.

Alongside them, Lenovo Smart Canvas is a cross-device concept for carrying a task from tablet to PC using pen, voice, camera and touch. Lenovo is demonstrating it in Berlin on a Yoga AIO i Aura Edition and a Yoga Tab Gen 2. It is a concept, not a shipping feature.

Idea: seven colours and a slimmer all-in-one

The IdeaPad Vibe is the volume laptop of this launch: 14-inch and 15-inch models on Snapdragon X processors with Copilot+ features, in seven colours developed with the Pantone Colour Institute — Dreamy Violet, Spicy Gold, Zen Green, Chill Blue, Radiant Coral, Moody Blue and Lowkey Grey. Snapdragon configurations go up to 24GB of memory; an AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series version adds dual-slot memory upgradeability to 32GB and SSD expansion to 1TB. Keycaps are swappable as an optional accessory. From 799 euros in October 2026 — full colour line-up and specs here.

The IdeaCentre AIO i is Lenovo’s redesigned all-in-one, on Intel Core Series 3 with up to 40 platform TOPS, in 23.8-inch and 27-inch sizes with up to 120Hz. Lenovo has removed the “middle box” of computing hardware that usually sits behind the panel, and added Adaptive Lighting — boot-up, default and music modes — driven by what it calls the AI Turbo Engine. Adaptive Lighting arrives via a later over-the-air update rather than at launch. From 999 euros in November 2026.

Both families get updates to Lenovo Qira, Lenovo’s on-device assistant, which now uses Workato-powered connections to email, calendar and collaboration tools so you can ask for something in plain language instead of switching apps. It is limited to select configurations.

Think: a 1.6-litre AI desktop and two ultraportables

For business, the ThinkCentre X Ultra is the interesting one — up to AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 Series with up to 128GB of unified memory in a 1.6-litre chassis, with the AMD Ryzen AI Developer Center preloaded for Windows and Linux AI work. From 3,100 euros in November 2026. Below it sit the ThinkCentre M75s Gen 6 small form factor and the M75q Gen 6 tiny desktop, both on AMD Ryzen AI PRO 400 Series with up to 50 TOPS of local acceleration, at 1,059 and 999 euros respectively in October.

On the laptop side, the ThinkBook 14 Gen 9 uses Snapdragon X2 Plus for 80 TOPS of AI performance (1,099 euros, October) while the ThinkBook 14x Gen 2 goes after thin and light with an Intel Core 7 chip in a 12.9mm, 990g body (1,079 euros, September).

Lenovo also announced two security additions: ThinkShield TraceLock, for persistent device visibility and control across distributed fleets, and a partnership with Prompt Security, now a SentinelOne company, for monitoring and governing employee use of generative AI.

The concepts: Project Swan and Project AeroBlade

Project Swan is a 14-inch notebook whose display rolls out to a 17-inch 16:9 panel when you need more room — one continuous wider screen rather than a second display. Project AeroBlade is the opposite kind of statement: a 14-inch laptop under 10mm thick and under 830g with no fan at all, cooled by Frore Systems’ AirJet solid-state technology in a magnesium-aluminium body with an OLED panel, Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 7.

Both are Intel-powered proof-of-concepts. Lenovo has a long record of showcasing rollable and foldable concepts at IFA and CES, some of which reach shelves years later and others never do, so treat these as direction rather than a product plan. We’ve gone deeper on both in our Project Swan and Project AeroBlade explainer.

Prices and availability

Lenovo quoted estimated European prices. The AED figures below are our own conversions at the 2 September 2026 rate of about AED 4.2perhe euro, before local taxes and channel margins — Lenovo has not confirmed Middle East pricing, availabili,ty or which of these models the region gets.

Monitors: a Thunderbolt VoIP first and an InkJet OLED

The ThinkVision P34WD-4v is, by Lenovo’s claim, the world’s first Microsoft-certified Thunderbolt VoIP monitor: a 34-inch WQHD curved 21:9 panel with a 5MP camera that auto-frames you, detects additional participants, adjusts speaker volume based on distance, and signs you in without a password. The ThinkVision P27UL-40 is Lenovo’s first 27-inch UHD InkJet Printing OLED Thunderbolt docking monitor for commercial use, with TÜV Rheinland Eye Comfort 5-star certification. The mainstream T32UD-4v (31.5-inch UHD, up to 120Hz) and T34WD-4v round out the range with Teams certification, Windows Hello and USB-C docking at up to 100W.

What to watch next

Three things are unresolved. Lenovo has not priced the two RTX Spark Yoga laptops, which are the most interesting machines of the launch. It has not said which models reach the Middle East or when. And several products — the monitors in particular — are a full quarter or two from shelves, which in this category usually means specs change before they arrive. We will update this page as regional pricing lands.
