Insta360 has launched the X6, its new flagship 360 camera with dual 1-inch Sony sensors, 8K50fps recording and a design that swaps between a 360 cam, gimbal camera and action cam. The X6 goes on sale today from AED 2,699 in the UAE.
This is the tenth anniversary of Insta360’s 360 camera line, following recent releases like the X4 Air and the Luna Ultra. The company now holds 71% of the global 360 camera market by value, per IDC’s Q1 2026 tracker. DJI is due to reveal its next-generation rival, the Osmo 360 II, on August 13.
Three cameras in one
The X6 works as a 360 camera, a subject-tracking gimbal camera and a single-lens action cam, switching between the three in a tap. Dual custom Sony 1/1.1-inch square sensors deliver a full 1-inch equivalent per lens, 33% more sensor area than the X5 and roughly four times the light intake per frame.
A triple-AI-chip system sits behind them: one 8-core 3.3GHz 4nm processor paired with two dedicated imaging chips. That combination offers 500% more computing power than the X5, a 106% faster clock speed, and 35% lower power draw.
The X6 is the first 360 camera with native in-camera Dolby Vision, with 10-bit colour and over 1.07 billion recordable colours.

The camera that edits itself

Insta360 X6 hardware: screen, battery and storage
The 2,600mAh Xtreme Battery records 140 minutes of 8K30fps 360 video on a charge, 51% longer than the X5, and fast-charges from empty to 80% in 24 minutes. The camera is waterproof to 20 metres without a housing (IP68) and to 60 metres with the Invisible Dive Case Pro. It carries 47GB of usable built-in storage out of 64GB total.
The 2.32-inch OLED screen hits 1,200 nits of peak brightness and stays always-on. The Replaceable Lens 2.0 is five times more scratch-resistant and 60% cheaper to replace than the previous generation.
The X6 works with over 100 accessories, from a motorcycle set with holographic speed dashboard overlay and automatic licence plate blur, to a car mount with electric suction cup. The magnetic mounting system stays compatible with X5, X4 Air and Ace series mounts.
