Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max Collector Edition telephoto hardware has reportedly leaked ahead of the expected Mate 90 series unveiling in China. The unusual part is not another phone camera sensor, but a separate Ruiying Z10 module with its own large sensor and optical system.
The details come from tipsters Bald Panda and Smart Pikachu on Weibo, via Gizmochina’s report. Huawei has not confirmed the Collector’s Edition, the accessory or the reported specifications.

The Ruiying Z10 is said to use a 1-inch sensor and a 9.1–91mm physical focal length, equivalent to 24–240mm. That would give the module a claimed 10x optical zoom range, with a PZ motorised zoom mechanism rather than a fixed clip-on converter.
The reported specification also includes Huawei’s Red Maple lens system and a variable f/2.0–f/4.5 aperture. The packaging shown in the leak carries the Ruiying Z10 name, 24–240mm range and aperture figures, although it does not visibly identify the Mate 90 Pro Max Collector’s Edition itself.
The accessory would sit alongside the phone’s own camera hardware, rather than simply stretching the reach of an existing telephoto lens. That makes it closer to a small interchangeable camera module than a conventional smartphone lens attachment.
What else is tipped for Huawei’s camera flagship?
The same report says the phone could use a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, a 50-megapixel main camera with variable aperture, Huawei’s Kirin 9050 Pro, 16GB of RAM and a 6,800mAh battery with 100W charging. Huawei Central previously reported that Huawei was considering an external lens accessory for the Pro Max, but did not publish the Ruiying Z10 details.
The wider Mate 90 launch is expected in China around the end of September. Earlier reporting on the range also points to a 6.9-inch display, Wi-Fi 7 and HarmonyOS 7 for the Pro Max. Huawei has yet to announce a global or UAE release, and there is no UAE price for either the phone or the accessory.
Huawei’s Kirin 9050 Pro has already appeared in the Mate XT 2, while Huawei’s latest laptop coverage shows the company continuing to push hardware announcements across several categories.
