Huawei has introduced the Huawei Qingyun L420z, a commercial laptop with a 14.2-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen and a claimed battery life of up to 14 hours. The company has not announced pricing or availability in the UAE.
The machine is aimed at business and government buyers, with Huawei offering domestic operating-system options including Galaxy Kylin and UnionTech. It weighs 1.32kg and measures 14.5mm thick, making it a fairly conventional portable work laptop rather than a desktop replacement in disguise.
Huawei Qingyun L420z display and battery
The 14.2-inch OLED panel uses a 3:2 aspect ratio and 2880 x 1920 resolution, with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 450 nits of brightness and claimed coverage of 100 per cent of the sRGB and P3 colour spaces. Huawei also lists hardware-level low blue-light reduction and 1,920Hz PWM dimming.
A 70Wh battery is rated for up to 14 hours of local 1080p video playback or 10 hours of web browsing in Huawei’s own testing. The bundled charger can take it to 25 per cent in 15 minutes, while compatible phone chargers supporting UFCS and SCP are also supported.
Huawei has not named the processor. The L420z instead gets LPDDR5x quad-channel memory, an SSD bay, Wi-Fi 5GHz and 2.5GHz support, Bluetooth 5.2, a fingerprint sensor and a 1080p webcam with a physical privacy switch. Its ports include USB-C, two USB-A connections, HDMI, Ethernet and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
