The change arrives with version 5.08, which is rolling out on Android and is fully available on iOS, according to 9to5Google’s report. The update also fixes a sign-up problem for people whose email addresses were previously linked to Fitbit, allowing them to use their preferred Google Account.
Google’s Fitbit migration guidance says support for Fitbit account logins ended on 19 May 2026. Users who moved their accounts kept the historical data they chose to transfer, while Google began processing deletions for unmigrated data from 15 July.
What Fitbit users in the UAE need to do
If you already moved Fitbit to a Google Account, the 5.08 change does not require another transfer. If you did not, open Google Health and sign in with the Google Account linked to the migration, if the account is still recoverable. Google says the deletion process has started, so there may be no data left to recover.
The app update is available to UAE users through the usual Android and iOS app stores. There is no UAE-specific price or subscription change in the release notes.
