The Verge says Fairphone shared the details ahead of the full reveal. Fairphone’s public support page still lists the launch as Q4 2026 and says full specifications will be added when the product launches, so battery life, noise cancellation and the complete parts list remain unconfirmed.
Fairbuds 2: price and release date
Europe gets the first release at €119; the US follows at $119. The price is €30 below the original Fairbuds’ €149 European launch price in 2024, according to The Verge’s report. Fairphone has not announced a UAE price or local availability.
A Fairphone support page currently gives only a Q4 2026 launch window. The October 14 date comes from the details Fairphone shared with The Verge, rather than the public support page.
The price sits below the original model’s launch figure, but it does not yet tell buyers what replacement parts will cost or how long Fairphone will stock them. Those details will help determine whether the repair promise is useful years after purchase, rather than only on launch day.
Seven replaceable parts, but no parts list yet
Fairphone says the Fairbuds 2 will have seven fully replaceable modular parts. It has not yet named those components. The original Fairbuds let owners replace parts including the earbuds’ batteries, the charging-case battery, the outer shell and the charging core; Fairphone’s repair guide for the original model walks through those jobs. That is useful context, not confirmation that the same parts or repair steps carry over to the Fairbuds 2.
The new model also adds Sony LDAC, a Bluetooth codec designed for higher-resolution audio on compatible devices. The original Fairbuds supported SBC and AAC, The Verge reports. LDAC gives the new pair a broader wireless-audio option, though it does not by itself confirm sound quality, battery life or support across every phone.
That repair angle has company among premium earbuds: Sennheiser’s Momentum True Wireless 5 also use user-replaceable batteries, but launched at $299.95. What UAE buyers know so far
Fairphone has announced Europe first and the US afterwards. No UAE price, retailer or launch date has been confirmed in the sources checked, so converting €119 into dirhams would give a misleading sense of local pricing. Does LDAC work with every phone?
No. The phone or audio player must support LDAC as well as the earbuds. On devices without it, the connection uses another supported Bluetooth codec, so LDAC support alone does not guarantee a different listening experience.
