Charlie Cox has recorded a role in a Sega game that hasn’t been announced yet. The Daredevil: Born Again star made the admission at New York Comic-Con 2026, in an interview with IGN’s Jeffrey Vega.

“I did another one! It doesn’t have a name yet,” Cox said. “I did a Sega one. I’ve done one since. It hasn’t come out yet. It was fun to do. It’s hard. It’s a whole different job, man.” He also admitted he wasn’t sure how much he was allowed to say, and gave no title, genre or release window.

A 40-hour session and an accent problem

Cox did share one detail about the work. By his account, he agreed to the job before meeting the team, then turned up for the first day of a roughly 40-hour recording commitment. “Hi guys, nice to meet you! How are you?” he recalled saying, to which the crew responded: “…oh, he’s English.” Cox said they had hoped for an American performer, so he had to deliver 40 hours of unprepared lines in an American accent.

That suggests an American character, and a sizeable part given the hours involved, though neither point is confirmed by Sega. IGN’s report notes that Cox also mentioned working on a new game earlier this year, again without specifics.

Not one of Sega’s announced games

Cox is no stranger to game work. He played Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, reportedly recording all his lines in a four-hour session, and was nominated for Best Performance at The Game Awards for it. Sega’s announced slate includes Stranger Than Heaven, Virtua Fighter Crossroads, Persona 6 and Alien: Isolation 2, according to IGN. Since this project has no name, it’s unlikely to be one of them.

Sega has been busy beyond games too. tbreak has covered the Netflix adaptations of Crazy Taxi, Sonic and Stranger Than Heaven, and Cox’s day job continues: Daredevil: Born Again is reportedly ending with Season 3, due in early 2027. Cox recently also told fans to get the “Save Daredevil” campaign going.

Is the Sega game confirmed?

Only by Cox. Sega hasn’t announced a title, and the actor said himself that the game has no name yet.

What role does Charlie Cox play?

He hasn’t said. His comments about the accent and the 40 hours of recording point to a large American character, but that’s inference rather than confirmation.
