Careem has launched Box XL, a new service in Dubai that lets customers send and receive larger items by car. The move expands the company’s existing bike-based Careem Box service, which has been popular since its launch in 2022.
Box XL is designed for items too big for a motorbike — think microwaves, computer screens, or bulky purchases from Dubizzle. The service will soon arrive in Abu Dhabi and Amman, with city-to-city deliveries planned for the coming months.
Bigger Items, Same Convenience
The expansion follows growing demand from users. Careem says nearly one in five Box orders involved requests for bigger deliveries.

This means customers can now arrange transport for home appliances, tech gear, or large retail items without hiring a moving van.
Beyond Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Box XL works alongside Careem’s existing Box Purchase option, where a captain can buy and deliver items for you.

This option has proved especially useful when shops don’t offer delivery or when you need something urgently.
Record-Breaking Users
Since 2022, over 900,000 people in Dubai have used Careem Box. Some users are highly active:
- One customer booked 1,380 deliveries in 2024
- Another completed over 120 deliveries in a single day
- Standard items: passports, laptops, mobile phones, personal items
- Some even order meals from restaurants that don’t deliver

- Select ‘Box’ from the home screen
