botim money has launched digital silver investing within its ‘Invest’ feature, enabling eligible users to buy, sell, and manage fractional silver holdings from AED 10, the company announced Sunday. The expansion builds on the success of its digital gold investment feature, which has recorded 128,000 trades worth over AED 100 million since launching in August 2025.

Lowering investment barriers through fractional ownership

The new digital silver capability is designed to remove traditional entry barriers tied to bulk purchases and offline handling, providing users with a regulated, in-app investment experience. botim money’s approach allows users to invest small amounts without the high minimum thresholds that historically limited participation in precious metals markets.

“We were the first fintech platform to announce plans for a digital gold investment portfolio within botim’s fintech ecosystem in 2023, in partnership with O Gold,” said Sacha Haider, Chief Operating Officer of Astra Tech | botim. “Since launch, fractional investing has removed traditional minimum investment thresholds that historically limited participation and driven notable growth in usage.”

Strong demand drives precious metals expansion

The rapid adoption of botim money’s gold investment feature signals sustained user demand for precious metals investing through the platform. Since August 2025, the service has facilitated 128,000 in-app gold trades, demonstrating the appeal of accessible precious metals investing among UAE users.

The silver launch comes as the global silver market faces supply constraints, with analysts projecting a sixth consecutive annual deficit in 2026 and a shortfall of around 67 million ounces. Retail investment demand is forecast to rise despite softer demand in some industrial sectors.

Building UAE’s digital financial ecosystem

The expansion strengthens botim money’s strategic partnership with O’Gold and contributes to the UAE’s broader ambition of developing a mature, digital-first financial ecosystem. botim, part of Astra Tech’s ecosystem, serves over 150 million users across 155 countries from its Abu Dhabi headquarters.

The digital silver feature joins botim money’s existing suite of financial services, which includes remittance services and payment capabilities across the MENA region.
