An ArkWeb mod lets Spider-Man swing through Batman: Arkham Knight’s Gotham by running Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Arkham Knight at the same time on one PC. The open-source project on GitHub uses Spider-Man’s movement while importing Gotham’s collision geometry from Arkham Knight.

RespawnFirst reported the mod as a dual-engine project. The project’s README calls ArkWeb experimental and describes a custom C++/Python setup. The README does not mention an AI component, despite RespawnFirst’s claim that advances in AI made the project possible.

How the ArkWeb mod combines two games

The ArkWeb mod runs Spider-Man Remastered as a hidden “guest” game and Arkham Knight as the “host”. A Python streamer asks Arkham Knight to scan Gotham in tiles, then sends collision data and swing points into Spider-Man’s physics world. The guest captures Spider-Man’s frame and draws it into Arkham’s view, with the host moving a hidden Batman model to match.

The project’s video demo is linked from its README:

What you need to run the ArkWeb mod

The README lists Windows 10 x64, Steam copies of both games, an Xbox-style controller, Visual Studio 2019 Build Tools, the Windows 10 SDK and Python 3.12 with several packages. Spider-Man Remastered must be version 4.0630; the project says other builds refuse to hook. Its files do not include either game.

The README warns that Gotham’s collision can be hollow and fast movement into an unloaded district can leave gaps until the area is scanned. It is a research project with rough edges, not a finished crossover release.

Other PC mod projects on tbreak have ranged from unlocking DLSS Multi Frame Generation on RTX 40-series cards to a multiplayer project for The Last of Us Part II. ArkWeb instead runs two game engines together.

Does ArkWeb handle fights with Spider-Man?

No. The project README says Arkham Knight hands combat to its own fighting system while Spider-Man is pinned to Batman’s position and has his pose copied. The camera also cuts at the start and end of a fight.

Can every Spider-Man suit use ArkWeb’s combat animation?

Not necessarily. The README says pose transfer is calibrated to the suit used for recording; it checks bone lengths and leaves mirroring off for suits with a different skeleton.
