Apple has announced a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K with an A19 chip, built-in microphones for hands-free control, and a new conversational Siri AI interface. The Apple UAE Store lists the new model at AED 1,199 (USD 299 in the US), but the UAE isn’t among the eight markets getting Siri AI at launch.

In its official announcement, Apple opened pre-orders on 13 October and set delivery and store availability for 13 November. The launch follows the earlier Apple TV 4K rumours, with the A19 chip now confirmed. For local buyers, though, the hardware upgrade and Siri AI rollout are separate decisions.

Siri AI doesn’t launch everywhere

The new interface lets viewers search conversationally, with results presented as poster artwork and suggestions on the TV. Apple’s examples include asking which Apple TV shows won Emmy Awards, then exploring related recommendations. During playback, answers to follow-up questions appear in a smaller overlay.

Apple also describes personal-context requests, such as playing a show someone recommended, but that feature requires an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone and not a capability unlocked by buying the box.

At launch, Siri AI will be available in English as a beta in the US, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the UK. Apple lists support for second-generation Apple TV 4K models and, later, this software feature won’t require the newest hardware.

The fourth-generation box adds three far-field microphones. Apple says echo cancellation separates spoken commands from background noise, letting viewers call Siri without reaching for the remote, even while audio plays.

A19, a findable remote, and four-speaker sound

Apple claims the A19 delivers up to 50% faster CPU performance and up to twice the GPU performance of the previous generation. A dedicated AV1 decoder also targets more efficient streaming.

The faster Siri Remote retains its touch-enabled clickpad and adds Find My support, including Precision Finding and a sound alert. Apple lists support for 4K Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos, and confirms that HDMI and USB-C cables are sold separately.

Home theatre support expands to four HomePod mini 2 speakers, with automatic calibration for their positions in the room. HomePod second-generation speakers can also join a four-speaker setup, provided the front and rear speaker pairs match.

The box also remains a smart-home hub with Wi-Fi and Thread. Apple describes camera activity summaries, compatible doorbell notifications, and accessory controls alongside the entertainment features.

Do I need the new Apple TV 4K to use Siri AI?

No. Apple lists Siri AI beta support for Apple TV 4K(2nd generation) and later, subject to launch markets and English-language availability. Personal-context requests additionally require an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone.

Can I use the new Siri Remote with an older Apple TV?

Yes. Apple says the new remote is compatible with Apple TV HD and Apple TV 4K, and will be sold separately.
