Xiaomi 18 Pro series launches September 23 with a 2nm chip and upgraded cameras

Xiaomi will unveil the Xiaomi 18 Pro series on September 23 at 19:00 China time, with the Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max sharing a new 2nm mobile platform, dual 200MP Leica cameras and larger silicon-carbon batteries.

The launch date was confirmed for Xiaomi’s autumn new product event. The company has not named the chip yet, although the timing alongside Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit has led to expectations that it will be based on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. That remains an expectation, not a Xiaomi confirmation.

Xiaomi 18 Pro series: the confirmed specifications

Xiaomi says both models use a flagship platform made on a 2nm GAA process, with performance and efficiency improvements. The phones will also share a Leica camera system with a 200MP main sensor and a 200MP periscope telephoto sensor. Xiaomi describes it as the most advanced Leica setup used on one of its numbered flagship series.

The display upgrade centres on a new-generation Super Pixel panel using an M11 light-emitting system and new green light-emitting material. Xiaomi claims the combination increases brightness while reducing power use, while a new packaging process cuts the bezels to 0.99mm.

The batteries are where the two models separate. The Xiaomi 18 Pro is listed with a 7,000mAh cell, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max moves to 8,500mAh. Both use Xiaomi’s GSR VIII battery technology with 32% silicon content.

Xiaomi 18 Pro launch date and UAE availability

The Xiaomi 18 Pro series launches in China on September 23. Xiaomi has not confirmed UAE pricing, a local launch date or regional availability, so there is no AED figure to report yet. The company’s wider Leica imaging partnership is documented on its official global imaging page, while GizmoChina’s report carries the launch timing and specifications.
