Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 18 Fold will pack a 6,000mAh high-density stacked battery when the book-style foldable launches in China on 7 September. The company says the design keeps the phone slim and light, although its final dimensions and weight are still to be announced. Gizmochina reported the battery announcement after Xiaomi published the details on Weibo.
Xiaomi 18 Fold battery: 6,000mAh in a stacked design
The battery is Xiaomi’s Jinshajiang cell, using a stacking process intended to fit more capacity into a foldable body. Xiaomi says it contains 20 per cent silicon and reaches energy density of up to 920Wh/L. Those are the company’s figures; real-world endurance will depend on the displays, chipset and software.
The phone will support 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, according to Xiaomi’s announcement. A large cell should help with the demands of a wider inner display, but capacity alone does not establish how long the 18 Fold will last between charges.
What else Xiaomi has confirmed
The Xiaomi 18 Fold will use Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset and is expected to be among the first phones with LPDDR6 memory. Xiaomi has also confirmed a triple rear-camera system with a 200MP main camera, a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, with Leica Summilux lenses, according to Gizmochina’s report on the camera details.
The separate Gadgets Now report says the device is expected to use a wider book-style design and launch first in China. Its reported 200MP camera and other specifications remain provisional until Xiaomi confirms them.
Xiaomi has not announced UAE availability or local pricing. Its previous MIX Fold phones have generally been China-only, so UAE buyers should not assume that the 18 Fold will be sold through official local channels after the September launch.
