Official page: The Last of Us on OSN+
From the UAE you can watch The Last of Us on OSN+ via:
- iOS and Android apps (with offline downloads)
- Supported smart TVs, Apple TV and PlayStation apps
Web: osnplus.com
OSN+ also promotes The Last of Us as one of its “Most Viewed Series of 2025”, alongside Game of Thrones, The Day of the Jackal, The White Lotus and House of the Dragon.
Apple TV (digital purchase)
If you prefer to buy the show rather than subscribe:
- Apple TV (UAE / Oman store): carries The Last of Us as an HBO series you can purchase in HD.
That’s a pay-per-season or per-episode model, not a subscription like OSN+.
Other regions
Outside MENA, the show is available on:
- Max / HBO in the US
- Hulu (with Max add-on) in the US
- Binge (Australia), Crave (Canada), Sky / NOW (UK & Ireland), HBO Go / other regional partners in various markets
But for UAE viewers, OSN+ is the official, easiest way to stream both seasons.
What Is The Last of Us About?
Created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us adapts the Naughty Dog games into a prestige TV drama.
- Season 1 (2023) follows Joel and Ellie on a dangerous road trip across a ruined United States 20 years after a cordyceps fungus outbreak destroys civilisation. Joel is hired to smuggle Ellie out of a quarantine zone, only to discover she’s immune – and may be the key to a cure.
- Season 2 (2025) jumps ahead about five years and begins adapting The Last of Us Part II. It explores Ellie’s life in Jackson, new relationships, and a brutal chain of events that push her into a cycle of revenge, while introducing Abby and new factions in Seattle.
The show is known for:
- Standout performances from Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie)
- High-end production design and location work
- Incredible music by Gustavo Santaolalla (who also scored the games)
- Episodes like “Long, Long Time” that blend horror with intimate character drama
It’s widely regarded as one of the best video-game adaptations ever made and has won multiple Emmys.
How Many Seasons & Episodes Does The Last of Us Have?
As of early 2026:
- Seasons: 2 (both on OSN+)
- Episodes: 16 total
- Season 1 – 9 episodes (2023)
- Season 2 – 7 episodes (2025)
- Status: Renewed for Season 3, expected in 2027 and continuing the Part II story.
On the OSN+ page you’ll see both seasons listed in one series entry, with season and episode menus and synopses.
In What Order Should You Watch The Last of Us?
Keep it simple:
- Season 1 (2023) – Episodes 1–9
- Season 2 (2025) – Episodes 1–7
The narrative is very linear and character-driven; don’t skip ahead or start with Season 2:
- Season 1 covers the first game + Left Behind DLC.
- Season 2 begins Part II and assumes you know what Joel and Ellie went through before.
If you want a smoother watch:
- Take a breather between Season 1 and Season 2 – the tone gets darker, and the time jump is intentional.
Is The Last of Us Kid-Friendly?
Short answer: no. This is very much an adults-only series.
On OSN+ and Apple TV it’s rated 18+.
Expect:
- Graphic violence and intense action
- Disturbing infected creatures and body horror
- Strong language
- Themes of loss, trauma, torture, suicide and moral compromise
It’s not suitable for children, and it’s a heavy watch even for younger teens. If you’re looking for something you can watch with kids, you’re better off on:

Should You Watch The Last of Us?
Watch it if…
- You enjoy serious, character-driven drama with high production values (think Chernobyl, The White Lotus, House of the Dragon).
- You like post-apocalyptic stories but care more about relationships and ethics than constant action.
- You played the games and want to see key scenes re-imagined for TV.
- You already subscribe to OSN+ and want to make the most of its HBO catalogue (alongside Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, The Day of the Jackal and The White Lotus).
Skip it if…
- You’re sensitive to violence, gore or bleak themes.
- You want something light, cosy or family-friendly.
- You dislike slow-burn storytelling and long, emotional episodes.
