If you want to watch Nocturne (Season 1), the draw is a crime thriller with a built-in trapdoor: detective Jonah Lynn’s protégé must go undercover with a serial killer while one victim remains missing. That gives Liev Schreiber, Zazie Beetz and Stephen Graham sharply opposed jobs from the outset, rather than another investigation built around a slowly filling evidence board.

Nocturne Season 1 trailer
The official trailer sets up the missing-person case and the dangerous undercover route into Jurek Walter’s orbit.
What Is It About?
When a victim of notorious serial killer Jurek Walter turns up alive, detective Jonah Lynn races to find the one person still missing. His protégé, FBI Agent Saga Bauer, goes undercover to get answers from Walter. The premise puts the investigation and the risk of getting close to its chief suspect on the same collision course, which is a better engine than a case that simply waits for its next clue. The TMDB listing classifies the series as crime and mystery.
Seasons and episodes
The TMDB season listing has one season of 10 episodes, dated 2026. That is a tidy first run for a story built around one missing-person case and a single undercover gambit.
Who Is in the Cast?
Liev Schreiber plays detective Jonah Lynn, while Zazie Beetz’s FBI Agent Saga Bauer carries the undercover thread into Stephen Graham’s Jurek Walter. That gives the three leads a clean triangle of pursuit, infiltration and menace. Bill Camp is Chief Dave Ellison, Rory Culkin is Karl Anders, and Chrissy Metz is Ida Frost; the ensemble has named roles on both sides of the investigation, not just a row of witnesses passing through the frame.
