Spoilers for VisionQuest episode 1 follow.

Fans think Marvel has tucked Billy Maximoff, a.k.a. Wiccan, into the background of VisionQuest’s first episode. IGN reports that viewers believe a figure with a familiar haircut appears in the crowd twice, which would make it the show’s first hint of a Maximoff family reunion. Marvel hasn’t confirmed it, and the sighting could still be a stray extra or a continuity slip.

The theory hangs on a scene near the end of the episode. Tommy, who has returned in another person’s body (played by Ruaridh Mollica), is working as a pickpocket in London, and IGN says the same person can be seen walking through the crowd after he pulls off a small heist. When Tommy later meets his accomplice Lisa (Lauren Morais), the figure appears again in a different position, which is what turned a possible extra into a suspect. Fans see Billy keeping tabs on his brother from a distance, a reading that fits how Billy and Tommy’s stories ended up separated.

Tommy’s return is the show’s own twist, and it gives the theory somewhere to go. Joe Locke played Billy in Agatha All Along in 2024, and The Tab notes that the series ended with Billy setting off to find his missing twin. A cameo in the crowd would pick up that thread without a reveal, and it’s the kind of detail Marvel shows have hidden in plain sight before.

One fan post on X pushed the idea into wider circulation after the premiere:

Mollica’s own comments have fuelled it. GamesRadar reports that he told Entertainment Tonight, “We actually shot our MCU stuff before we did the play”, referring to Clarkston, the West End production he and Locke later starred in together. Screen Rant reads the interview as confirmation that Locke returns in later episodes. The interview doesn’t say where Locke appears, so the crowd figure remains unconfirmed.

Wiccan’s return had already been expected before the premiere. IGN says the show, the last Marvel release before Avengers: Doomsday arrives this December, gives the studio a natural slot to reunite the family, and a recent trailer may have carried another hint.

VisionQuest streams on Disney+. IGN says two episodes arrive each week until the penultimate episode on 3 November, and the finale, “Forever”, follows on 10 November. Those are US dates, so UAE viewers should check the Disney+ app for local unlock times.
