Amazon MGM Studios has released the full trailer for Verity, its film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s 2018 thriller, and confirmed the release date: October 2.
Anne Hathaway plays Verity Crawford, a bestselling author who can no longer write after an accident. Dakota Johnson is Lowen Ashleigh, the struggling writer hired to finish her book series from the family home. Josh Hartnett plays Jeremy, Verity’s husband. Lowen’s brief comes with a complication the trailer makes plain: she finds an unpublished autobiography in Verity’s study, and the confessions inside change what everyone thought they knew. Ghostwriting is rarely this demanding.
Michael Showalter, who directed The Idea of You, is behind the camera. Nick Antosca wrote the screenplay with Hoover. The cast also includes Ismael Cruz Córdova and Alex Cooper.
Verity was originally scheduled for May 15 before Amazon MGM moved it to October. It is the second Hoover novel adapted for the big screen, after It Ends With Us in 2024. The book began as a self-published Kindle title before a traditional publisher picked it up.
Sony Pictures Releasing International distributes the film outside North America, which puts it in UAE cinemas in the same October window. Local listings should firm up closer to release; UAE cinemas often open new titles a day early.
