Microsoft is refreshing its smaller Surface machines with Snapdragon X2 Plus: the Surface Pro 12-inch and Surface Laptop 13-inch arrive from October 13, starting at $1,149.99 and $1,199 respectively. The Surface Pro 12-inch Snapdragon X2 Plus edition also adds an optional 5G configuration, although Microsoft has not announced a UAE price or release date.
Microsoft announced the devices at Snapdragon Summit, with the company claiming up to 17% faster Office productivity, 18% more efficient battery performance, over 60% faster graphics and up to 95% faster local AI inferencing than the previous Snapdragon X Plus models. Those are Microsoft test results, so the final experience will depend on configuration and workload.
Surface Pro 12-inch Snapdragon X2 Plus adds 5G
The Surface Pro 12-inch keeps its fanless 2-in-1 design but gets a 25% brighter, 500-nit PixelSense touchscreen. It will be available with 16GB or 24GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. The previous 8GB option is gone, which helps explain the higher starting price.
Microsoft says the Pro gains an extra hour of active web browsing, while the optional 5G model is aimed at people who need a connection away from Wi-Fi. Microsoft Ink Canvas, a pen-first app for sketching, annotating, generating images and summarising text, will ship pre-installed on the Pro and arrive for other supported Windows devices on October 13.
The new Surface Laptop 13-inch uses the same Snapdragon X2 Plus chip and also gets a 25% brighter, 500-nit touchscreen, a new Black finish and up to 22.5 hours of local video playback. It starts with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with 24GB and 512GB options available higher up the range.

Microsoft is also launching a Surface Mouse with haptic feedback and a customisable action button for Copilot and shortcuts. It will cost $79.99 and arrive on the same date. The new PCs and mouse launch in select markets on October 13; Microsoft has not confirmed UAE pricing or local availability.
