The $927 million estimate puts Spider-Man behind Endgame
Our sister site IGN Middle East reports that Spider-Man: Brand New Day earned an estimated $927 million worldwide during its opening weekend, making it the second-biggest global debut of all time.
The total is divided between an estimated $355 million from 4,487 cinemas in North America and $572 million internationally. These figures remain weekend estimates while the final Sunday totals are counted.
| Film | North American opening | Global opening |
|---|---|---|
| Spider-Man: Brand New Day | $355 million estimated | $927 million estimated |
| Avengers: Endgame | $357.1 million | About $1.2 billion |
Endgame’s global lead is secure based on those estimates, while the North American contest is separated by about $2 million. Tom Holland appears in both films, so at least one person gets to leave this record fight without choosing sides.
The domestic record could still change with final totals
Spider-Man: Brand New Day could move ahead of Avengers: Endgame domestically if its final opening-weekend total rises above the current $355 million estimate.
The reported figures also give Brand New Day the biggest opening for a Sony or Spider-Man film, alongside records for preview sales and opening-day sales. Its extraordinary weekend followed the film’s record opening day, when the scale of the turnout first became clear.
The wider North American box office reportedly generated $430 million across all films during the weekend, with the report citing Variety for that figure. The Odyssey followed Spider-Man in second place with $51 million, while Toy Story 5 earned $6.3 million in third.
The final theatrical total remains unknown. An opening just short of $1 billion gives the film a spectacular head start, but its complete run will depend on how strongly ticket sales hold after the debut rush.
Spider-Man is already playing across the UAE
Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been showing in cinemas across the UAE since its confirmed local release on 30 July 2026.
VOX Cinemas lists UAE showtimes and booking for the film, while Novo Cinemas also includes it in its UAE line-up. The local release arrived one day before the film’s listed 31 July global theatrical date, so UAE audiences were already swinging before the worldwide box-office arithmetic began.
