The 14th Sikka Art and Design Festival Dubai has opened, transforming the Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood into a vibrant hub of creativity. According to an announcement from the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, the festival runs from 24 January until 1 February 2026. Under the theme ‘Imagining Dubai: Identities of the Future’, it features over 450 creatives from the UAE and beyond.

Held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture, the event is a key part of the wider Dubai Art Season. It aims to support the emirate's creative economy by providing a platform for local and regional talent.

What to see at Sikka 2026

Visitors can explore around 250 artworks spread across 16 heritage houses. The displays include installations, sculptures, and interactive experiences. The festival also features 11 new murals, seven public artworks, and six large-scale installations that reflect the dynamism of the UAE’s art scene.

Each house has a specific focus. Highlights include the Public Art House, Visual Arts House, Design House, and an International House curated by Japan House. This layout encourages exploration of one of Dubai's most important heritage sites while discovering contemporary art.

Workshops, talks and live music

Sikka is more than just an exhibition. The 2026 programme includes over 500 workshops led by various creative groups, including the Al Shindagha Museum. There are also more than 30 panel discussions and talks on global art trends.

A main stage on the Dubai Creek will host around 55 live music shows. The schedule also includes 10 orchestral concerts, choirs, and other musical performances throughout the nine-day event.

Activities for families and children

The festival is a family-friendly event, with a dedicated programme from the Al Jalila Cultural Centre for Children. Activities include workshops on ceramics, visual arts, theatre, and design. A special 'Safina Stage' will host hands-on workshops and a 'Future Stars' talent competition to discover young performers.

Children and adults can also contribute to a collaborative mural called ‘Circles Together,’ creating a community artwork that will evolve throughout the festival.

Food and shopping

Beyond the art, visitors will find plenty of food and shopping options. The festival features 41 F&B vendors offering a range of culinary concepts. There will also be nine curated supper clubs led by well-known chefs for a unique dining experience.

A retail area with 45 local outlets provides a platform for creative entrepreneurs to sell products inspired by art and tradition. It's a great place to find unique gifts and support local brands.
