Shory has launched Tesla insurance in the UAE with Al Wathba Insurance and Electric Vehicle Services (EVS), promising repairs through the specialist Tesla repair partner for policies bought through its platform.
The partnership brings together Shory’s digital insurance platform, Al Wathba’s motor cover and EVS’s repair network. The companies say the Tesla insurance UAE product is designed around three complaints familiar to electric-car owners: finding cover, comparing prices and locating a workshop equipped to repair an EV.
Tesla insurance UAE will route repairs through EVS
The release describes EVS as the UAE’s authorised Tesla repair partner and says the policy guarantees repairs through the company. It also says EVS uses manufacturer-compliant processes, OEM-grade parts and certified components. The announcement does not list the policy’s excess, battery terms, model-by-model eligibility or Tesla insurance UAE premiums.
“Electric vehicles require a different approach to underwriting and claims management.”
Shukri Salem Mussabih Almheiri, CEO of Al Wathba Insurance
Shory sells the cover exclusively, with Al Wathba as the insurer. Shory’s website offers online car insurance quotes, while Al Wathba lists motor insurance among its individual products.
What Tesla owners in the UAE need to check
Shory’s own UAE EV insurance guide gives indicative comprehensive premiums of AED 2,800–9,000 a year across the wider electric-vehicle market, with a Tesla Model 3 example in the AED 4,500–7,000 range. Those are general market figures, not a quoted price for this new product, so Tesla owners will need to request an individual quote.
The guide also says EV owners should check battery damage, charging equipment, roadside assistance and flood cover before buying. None of those terms are confirmed for the Tesla policy in the announcement.
Shory previously announced a similar EV insurance partnership with EVS for Chinese electric vehicles. The Tesla launch expands that arrangement to another large group of electric-car owners, although the companies have not disclosed customer numbers or expected policy volumes.
Shory’s electric-vehicle insurance guide sets out the cover questions buyers should ask, while Al Wathba Insurance’s motor-insurance page provides the insurer’s direct quote route. Tbreak has also covered AI tools entering UAE car insurance.
How do Tesla owners get the new UAE insurance cover?
The product is available exclusively through Shory, which provides an online quote flow. Al Wathba Insurance is the insurer and EVS handles the guaranteed repair network described in the announcement.
How much does Shory Tesla insurance cost?
The Tesla-specific premium was not disclosed. Shory’s general UAE EV guide gives an indicative AED 4,500–7,000 annual comprehensive range for a Tesla Model 3, but individual premiums vary by vehicle, driver and policy terms.
Does the policy cover Tesla battery damage?
The announcement does not confirm battery-damage terms. Buyers should ask Shory whether battery damage, charging equipment, flood damage, roadside assistance and battery degradation are covered before purchasing.
