Samsung 2026 OLED TVs and Odyssey monitors gain G-SYNC compatibility

Samsung Electronics has announced that its 2026 OLED TV lineup and next-generation Odyssey gaming monitors are NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible, according to the company's announcement Sunday. The compatible models include the OLED S95H, S90H, and S85H TVs, plus the new Odyssey G6 gaming monitors (G60H and G61SH).

G-SYNC technology synchronises the display's refresh rate with NVIDIA GeForce GPU frame rates, reducing screen tearing and stuttering for smoother gameplay. The announcement positions Samsung's displays as premium options for serious gamers looking for tear-free performance.

Odyssey G6 pushes refresh rate boundaries

The 27-inch Odyssey G6 (G60H) marks a significant leap in gaming monitor technology, achieving a 1,040Hz refresh rate through Samsung's Dual Mode feature. This allows players to toggle between ultra-high frame rates in HD resolution and native QHD performance at up to 600Hz.

For gamers prioritising visual quality, the Odyssey G6 (G61SH) features a QD-OLED panel with QHD resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. The monitor delivers a 0.03ms GTG response time and HDR10+ GAMING support, matching the LG UltraGear OLED monitors that arrived in UAE last year with similar response times.

Both Odyssey G6 models are G-SYNC Compatible, ensuring smooth gameplay whether players prioritise extreme frame rates or high resolution visuals.

OLED TVs target console and PC gamers

Samsung's 2026 OLED TV lineup delivers gaming-focused features across three models. The S95H and S90H support refresh rates up to 165Hz, while the S85H reaches 120Hz — all with low latency for responsive gameplay.

Beyond G-SYNC compatibility, the entire lineup supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring stable HDR gaming performance across PC and console platforms. This dual compatibility approach follows Samsung's 2026 TV roadmap focusing on AI-enhanced gaming features.

The OLED TVs introduce HDR10+ ADVANCED, Samsung's next-generation HDR format that enhances brightness, contrast, motion, and colour accuracy. The S95H and S90H models also feature Samsung's Glare Free technology to reduce reflections without compromising OLED picture quality.

Samsung's announcement comes as competition intensifies in the premium gaming display market. LG's 2025 OLED evo TVs already offer similar gaming features in UAE, while LG UltraGear monitors compete directly with Samsung's Odyssey lineup.

The 1,040Hz refresh rate on the G60H represents the highest refresh rate currently available in gaming monitors, though it requires specific hardware configurations and game optimisation to achieve maximum performance.
