Reacher Season 6 is confirmed: Prime Video has renewed the series while Season 5 is still filming in Toronto. The sixth-season order was announced on 28 September, 12 days after the Season 4 finale, and arrives before the next season has a release date.
IGN reported the renewal, while Deadline reports that this is the first time the series has received two season renewals in the same calendar year. Prime Video had already ordered Season 5 in May.
Reacher season 6: what Prime Video has confirmed
The renewal confirms that Jack Reacher will return for another season, but Prime Video has not announced a release window, production start or the Lee Child novel that will provide its story. There is no Season 6 plot or cast list yet. The announcement is a green light, not a schedule.
Season 4 gives some context for the early order. It reached 66 million viewers worldwide in its first 28 days on Prime Video, according to Amazon figures cited by Deadline, and ranks among the platform’s five most-viewed original seasons. More than half of its audience — 58 per cent — watched from outside the US, with the UK, Germany and Brazil among its strongest international markets.
Prime Video also told Polygon that Reacher has drawn more than 200 million viewers worldwide across the series. The fourth season’s 66 million figure is a 28-day measurement, so it should not be compared directly with a different season’s shorter viewing window.

Friedlander’s statement accompanied the renewal. The announcement credits the novels, showrunner Nick Santora and Alan Ritchson’s performance, but offers no indication of which part of the books’ world Season 6 will adapt.
Season 5 is still filming in Toronto
Production on Season 5 began in late July in Toronto, before Season 4 premiered. The new episodes will adapt Make Me, the 20th novel in Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series. Season 4, by contrast, drew from Gone Tomorrow, the 13th book.
Neither Season 5 nor Season 6 has a confirmed release date. Season 4’s finale arrived on 16 September, and the Season 6 renewal followed less than two weeks later. Season 5 is the nearer release: it has a book, an active production and a returning lead, while details for the sixth season remain open.

What the Season 6 renewal does not tell us
The season order does not identify which book will be adapted or when filming will begin. The series has not followed Lee Child’s publication order: Season 4 adapted the 13th book, while Season 5 is based on the 20th. That leaves plenty of options, but no announced pick.
There is also no confirmed Season 5 premiere date to use as a guide for the next instalment. Season 6 is at an earlier stage still, so a specific year or release window would be speculation. For now, the confirmed news is the renewal itself; Prime Video has committed to another season while the fifth is still being made.
