PS Plus September adds Psychonauts 2, Stardew Valley
TL;DR
  • Psychonauts 2 (PS4), Stardew Valley (PS4), Viewfinder (PS5/PS4) will be added on Sep 2
  • What's leaving: Lies of P, DayZ, My Hero One’s Justice 2

Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games for September: Psychonauts 2 (PS4), Stardew Valley (PS4) and Viewfinder (PS5/PS4). All three go live on Tuesday, 2 September for all PS Plus tiers. If you haven’t grabbed August’s titles yet, you have until Monday, 1 September to claim Lies of P, DayZ, and My Hero One’s Justice 2.

What’s new on PS Plus in September

Short version: one acclaimed 3D platformer, one life-sim staple, and one BAFTA-winning puzzler.

  • Psychonauts 2 (PS4) – Double Fine’s inventive platform-adventure returns, now claimable with PS Plus. (VGC’s review still rates it highly.)
  • Stardew Valley (PS4) – The farming/life sim that swallowed weekends whole.
  • Viewfinder (PS5/PS4) – The perspective-bending puzzle game that won BAFTA British Game and Best New IP.
  • Release date – Tuesday, 2 September 2025 (UAE).
  • Deadline for August games1 September 2025.

Expanded: Sony lists all three as “Monthly Games”, so once you add them to your library, they remain playable for as long as you have an active PS Plus membership.

Why this lineup matters

It’s a smart spread: a story-driven platformer, a cosy life sim, and a head-twisting puzzler.

  • Variety for different moods – platforming, farming, puzzles.
  • Strong critical pedigree – all three reviewed well; Viewfinder is a BAFTA winner.
  • Low hardware barrier – two PS4 titles and one cross-gen title.
  • Value for Essential – you don’t need Extra/Premium to claim them.

Expanded: Psychonauts 2 is still praised for creativity and character writing, and Stardew Valley keeps getting updates that pull players back to their farms. Viewfinder uses photographs to reshape 3D spaces in a way that screenshots don’t quite sell—claim it and try a few puzzles before deciding if it’s for you.

UAE details: dates, time zone, and pricing notes

For readers in the UAE (GST, UTC+4), here’s the practical bit.

  • Go-live: Tuesday, 2 September 2025 (local date).
  • Claim-by date for August games: Monday, 1 September 2025.
  • Subscription pricing view on UAE store: the en-ae PlayStation Store shows PS Plus prices in USD; at the time of writing, Extra 12-month displays $107.99 on the UAE store page.
  • Tip: if you only want the Monthly Games, Essential is enough.

Expanded: Sony’s en-ae storefront frequently lists subscription fees in USD rather than AED. Banks typically bill you in AED at your card’s exchange rate. If you plan to upgrade tiers, note Sony’s pro-rated upgrades (e.g., moving from Essential to Premium mid-term).

What to do before 1 September

Don’t leave value on the table.

  • Claim August’s set: Lies of P, DayZ, My Hero One’s Justice 2
  • Queue downloads: you only need to “Add to Library” to keep them
  • Check storage: PS4 users often juggle space; add now, download later

FAQ

What time on September 2 will the games appear in the UAE?

Sony lists 2 September as the start date. Store refreshes roll out through the day, so expect them on Tuesday afternoon/evening GST. If you don’t see them, try again later on the 2nd.

Do I need PS Plus Extra or Premium to claim these?

No. Essential is enough to claim Monthly Games. You keep access as long as you remain subscribed. Upgrades are pro-rated if you move up a tier.

Is Sony dropping PS4 games from PS Plus?

Not immediately. From January 2026, PS4 games won’t be a key benefit in Monthly Games, but Sony says some will still appear occasionally. Your previously redeemed PS4 titles remain playable while you’re subscribed.
