PlayStation Plus August 2025: Free Games Line-up Includes Lies of P, Dayz, My Hero One’s Justice 2

Sony has confirmed the PlayStation Plus free games for August 2025, and it’s a strong mix. Starting from 5 August, subscribers across all tiers—Essential, Extra, and Premium—can claim three new titles: Lies of P (PS4/PS5), DayZ (PS4), and My Hero One’s Justice 2 (PS4).

The lineup suits fans of dark RPGs, hardcore survival games, and anime-style fighting games. UAE players can grab the games from early morning on launch day. And as a bonus for PlayStation Plus’s 15th anniversary, Sony’s throwing in a free avatar pack inspired by popular titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and God of War Ragnarök.

These games joins a bunch of other titles from last month’s drop, which included Cyberpunk 2077.

Lies of P: Bloodborne Vibes with a Pinocchio Twist

YouTube video

Lies of P is a Soulslike RPG set in a twisted version of the Pinocchio fairy tale. You play as a puppet battling through a decaying Belle Époque city filled with mechanical monsters and moral choices. It borrows a lot from Bloodborne, from the eerie setting to its dodge-heavy combat.

  • Platform: PS4 and PS5
  • Developer: Neowiz Games
  • Genre: Soulslike RPG

Combat is tough and unforgiving. There’s no hand-holding. You’re encouraged to craft weapons, tweak builds and adapt to brutal enemies. The moral system—lying vs truth—also shapes your endings. It’s ideal if you want that FromSoftware-style challenge, without actually replaying Elden Ring.

DayZ: Survive the Apocalypse, or Don’t

YouTube video

DayZ is an online-only survival game dropped in a post-Soviet wasteland overrun by zombies—and worse, other players. There’s no objective. Just try not to die.

  • Platform: PS4
  • Developer: Bohemia Interactive
  • Genre: Online survival sandbox

The game’s brutal: no saves, no guidance, and no guarantees. You manage thirst, hunger, illness and threats from bandits. It’s buggy, messy, and has a cult following that loves it for exactly that reason. If you’re into high-stakes, permadeath gameplay and unpredictable encounters, DayZ delivers.

My Hero One’s Justice 2: Flashy Anime Brawling

YouTube video

My Hero One’s Justice 2 is a 3D fighting game set in the My Hero Academia anime universe. You pick from a large roster of heroes and villains, each with unique Quirks, and fight across destructible arenas.

  • Platform: PS4
  • Developer: Byking
  • Genre: Anime arena fighter

The game leans into spectacle. Big moves, fast pacing, and tag-team mechanics make it ideal for fans of the show. There’s also a short story mode following the anime’s arc. It’s not deep, but it’s flashy and fun, especially in couch multiplayer or quick online bouts.
