An unreleased mini PC called the Piston V has surfaced running Cyberpunk 2077 and Spider-Man 2 at 1080p, powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 365 — and nobody, including the reviewer sent the unit, can say who makes it.
The mystery box
The device arrived with ETA Prime, whose hands-on video is currently the only documentation the Piston V has. The upright white case, circular touch display and orange carry handle look like a designer’s tribute to a 1950s television; the branding is a piston inside a V. The manufacturer column is blank. It ships dual-booting Windows 11 and Bazzite, the SteamOS-style gaming distribution, which makes it a Steam Machine in everything but Valve’s involvement and the name on the box.
The hardware
Inside sits a 10-core, 20-thread Ryzen AI 9 365 APU with Radeon 880M integrated graphics — some early coverage says 890M, but AMD’s own spec sheet says 880M — 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1TB Gen 4 SSD. ETA Prime ran Cyberpunk 2077, Spider-Man 2, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Left 4 Dead 2 at 1080p with frame generation, alongside the usual desktop chores. The circular display doubles as a secondary monitor under Windows, showing CPU, GPU, RAM and temperature at a glance; under Bazzite’s game mode it is less configurable, and it is fixed at 60Hz either way. Connectivity covers USB 3, USB-C, HDMI, dual Ethernet and a 3.5mm jack.
What it means if you’re shopping in the UAE
Nothing yet. There is no maker, no release date and no price, so there is no UAE distributor and no warranty. SteamOS now officially ships on third-party desktops and the mini-PC market is filling with SteamOS-style boxes that play modern games on integrated graphics. Most of them have a company behind them. The Piston V has not managed that yet.
