Paul Bettany says he once left the entire Avengers: Infinity War script on a plane, then tipped an airport greeter USD 500 after they retrieved it. IGN reports that the Vision actor shared the story during a Virgin Radio appearance with VisionQuest co-star Emily Hampshire.

The confession concerns an old filming mishap, not a new leak. Bettany’s account ends with the script recovered, and the report doesn’t identify the flight, airport, or date of the incident. It also doesn’t establish whether anyone else read the pages before they were returned.

“I’ve never told anybody this, but I once left the entire script for Infinity War on a plane,” Bettany said.

He explained that he had already left the aircraft and reached his car when he realised what was missing. Fortunately, the greeter who had met him was able to go back and collect it. Bettany described that person as a “genius” and said he paid them roughly 500 dollars for the rescue. An unusually expensive item of lost luggage, but a recovered one.

Hampshire had a script scare as well

During the same conversation, Hampshire, who plays E.D.I.T.H. in VisionQuest, admitted losing script pages for the new series. In IGN’s account, security visited her home after she failed to return her sides: the pages covering the scenes an actor films that day.

Hampshire said she hadn’t realised the pages were precious and thought she had probably thrown them away. Her account concerns daily scene pages, rather than the complete film script Bettany described leaving behind.

The interview arrives alongside the Disney+ series’ premiere. For episode dates, tbreak’s VisionQuest release schedule covers the eight-part run separately. The airport anecdote doesn’t reveal any new plot details about the show.

Bettany’s earlier encounter with fake scripts

The actor has previously described a different problem with Infinity War scripts: receiving versions that weren’t the story he would actually film.

In its 2018 report on Bettany’s MTV interview, ComicBook.com described his account of reading a deliberately altered screenplay. Bettany said the Russo brothers then asked him to read the real version, only for him to receive the same fake script again. He described altered endings, plot turns, and character deaths.

That earlier report also flagged differing accounts of how many fake scripts he read. It doesn’t establish which version was involved in the airport incident, so the two stories shouldn’t be treated as a single sequence of events.

The contrast is straightforward: altered scripts were intended to keep the film’s story secret, while Bettany’s latest recollection describes a complete script briefly leaving his possession. Neither account establishes that a public leak resulted. For a separate look at the new show’s creative process, tbreak has covered VisionQuest showrunner Terry Matalas’s comments about Marvel giving him creative freedom.

Did Paul Bettany’s lost script leak online?

The report doesn’t describe a public leak resulting from this incident. Bettany said the airport greeter recovered the script; he didn’t say whether anybody had read it in the meantime.

Did Emily Hampshire lose the same script?

No. Hampshire described losing daily scene pages for VisionQuest. Bettany’s story concerned the entire Avengers: Infinity War script left on a plane.
