Motorola Announces the Edge 70 Plus, Moto Watch Ultra and a Razr Covered in Swarovski Crystals

By Abbas Jaffar Ali7 min readSep 3, 2026

Motorola has used IFA 2026 to announce four things at once: a new premium Edge phone, its most serious smartwatch to date, a wireless charger, and a jewellery-grade version of a razr it already sells. Two of them are genuinely new devices, and all four are confirmed for the Middle East — something we cannot take for granted.

Here is what was announced, what the specifications actually say, and the one thing Motorola still will not tell us.

Pricing is the missing piece. Every release in the press pack points to local PR teams for price and availability, so there is no global figure to convert. What we do have is regional confirmation: the edge 70 plus rolls out in select countries across Europe and the Middle East in the coming weeks, the watch ultra adds the Americas and Asia-Pacific, the charger skips North America, and the Swarovski razr goes to “most markets globally”. We have asked Motorola META for AED prices, dates and the authorised warranty channel, and will update this page when they land.

motorola edge 70 plus: a 200MP camera and a very bright screen

The edge 70 plus leads on its camera. The main sensor is a 200MP unit with 2.0µm pixels, an f/1.8 aperture, all-pixel focus and optical image stabilisation — the highest resolution Motorola has put in a phone — joined by 10x Super Zoom and 4K video. Alongside it sit a 2MP macro camera and a 32MP front camera that also shoots 4K, with an automatic switch to a wider group mode when you rotate to landscape.

The display is the other headline: 6.78in, quad-curved, Extreme AMOLED at Super HD resolution (2772 x 1272), HDR10+, up to 144Hz, and a peak brightness of 5,200 nits. That last number only applies to small highlights in short bursts, but this is the right sort of excessive for a Dubai summer.

Underneath is a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 with 8GB of LPDDR5X, 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage and Android 16 — upper-mid-range silicon in a premium shell rather than a flagship-chip phone — cooled by a vapour chamber. The 6,500mAh battery supports 45W TurboPower charging, 7.5W reverse wired charging, and bypass charging: switch it on, and the phone runs directly from the charger instead of cycling the battery while you game, so the pack stays cooler and ages more slowly. There is a catch worth knowing — it lives inside Gametime mode, is off by default, and only kicks in above a charge threshold you pick. We have explained exactly how bypass charging works, and why Motorola is late to it rather than first.

Durability is a mixed message: Gorilla Glass 7i on the front and back and MIL-STD-810H testing, but only IP64 water resistance, which covers rain and splashes, not submersion. It weighs 196g at 8.49mm thick. The four Pantone finishes are Mountain View (a deep green, silk-inspired), Gray Lilac (acetate), Milky Blue (soft-luxe) and Sage (soft-luxe).

moto watch ultra: Motorola finally builds a proper smartwatch

The moto watch ultra is the most substantial thing here. It is a 46mm stainless steel Wear OS 6 watch on a Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1, and for the first time on a moto watch it has LTE with an eSIM, so it works with the phone left at home. Motorola has licensed Polar’s fitness science rather than building its own: Nightly Recharge and Sleep Plus Stages for sleep and recovery, Serene breathing with real-time biofeedback, Smart Calories, Energy Sources, activity scores and intensity zones, plus a Running Coach on the wrist.

The hardware holds up: a 1.5in pOLED at 466 x 466 and 2,700 nits under Gorilla Glass 3, IP68 with 5ATM so it is fine in a pool, dual-frequency L1/L5 GPS, NFC for Google Pay, and up to two days of active use from the 550mAh cell with the always-on display off — or 24 hours of use from a 15-minute charge. Two bands ship in the box with a magnetic dock, and the lugs take any standard 22mm strap. It is also the first Motorola wearable with Motorola Qira on board alongside Gemini, so “Hey Qira” pulls back something you saved on a compatible Motorola or Lenovo device. Our full breakdown covers what Polar’s involvement actually changes.

razr 70 with Crystals by Swarovski: a finish, not a phone

Motorola’s Brilliant Collection is the line where it hands existing hardware to design partners. This entry takes the 2026 razr, finishes it in PANTONE Meteorite with a quilted soft-luxe texture, and sets 35 Swarovski Crystals in Silver Night into the back by hand, with a larger 32-facet crystal on the hinge that catches the light every time you flip it. A clear protective case is included so you can keep the design visible.

The specification is the razr you can already buy: a 3.6in external display, a 6.9in Extreme AMOLED inside, a dual 50MP camera system and a 4,800mAh battery rated at more than 36 hours. If you own one, there is nothing here to upgrade to. If you do not, this is a more expensive version of a phone already on sale, aimed at people who want the object rather than the spec sheet — and there is a real market for that.

moto snap wireless charger

A magnetic pad that delivers up to 25W to Qi2.2 devices and up to 30W to supported Motorola phones using Motorola’s own protocol, with overheat and overcharge protection, zero standby power consumption, magnetic case support and a 1.5m braided USB-C cable. There is also a stand version with an aluminium hinge, a silicone-lined holder and an Alcantara base — but that bundle is confirmed for Europe only, so do not assume it reaches shelves here.

What we still need to confirm

  • AED pricing for all four products — nothing has been announced anywhere
  • Exact UAE and Saudi on-sale dates within the “coming weeks” window
  • Authorised warranty channel — we will not recommend anything sold only as international stock
  • Which colourways and storage tiers the region actually gets, and whether the charger’s stand bundle comes here at all

When do the new Motorola products go on sale?

Motorola says the edge 70 plus, moto watch ultra and moto snap wireless charger roll out in select markets — including the Middle East — over the coming weeks, without naming dates. We will update this page as soon as UAE availability is confirmed.

How much does the motorola edge 70 plus cost in the UAE?

No price has been announced here or anywhere else — Motorola’s press material directs all pricing questions to local teams. We do not publish converted estimates from unannounced figures, so this stays open until Motorola META confirms an AED price.

Is the razr 70 with Swarovski crystals different from the normal razr?

Only cosmetically. The display, cameras, chip and battery match the razr already on sale; what changes is the PANTONE Meteorite finish, the quilted texture, 35 hand-set Swarovski Crystals, the 32-facet crystal on the hinge and an included clear case.

What is bypass charging on the edge 70 plus?

It lets the phone draw power straight from the charger while you game instead of charging and draining the battery at the same time, which keeps temperatures and long-term battery wear down. On the edge 70 plus it is off by default, sits inside Gametime mode, and activates once the battery passes a threshold you choose — 20, 40, 60 or 80%.

Does the moto watch ultra work without a phone?

Yes. It has LTE with an eSIM for calls and messages, dual-frequency GPS, Wi-Fi and NFC payments through Google Wallet, so you can leave the phone behind for a workout.
