- Fox Hunt online multiplayer is available now as a free update
- Supports up to 12 players with two modes: Survival Capture and Survival Intrude
- Adds AT-CAMO and "Naked Sense" abilities focused on stealth and survival.
Konami has switched on Fox Hunt, the online mode for Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater. It lands as a free update with 12-player matches and two game types built around stealth, decoys, and a bit of chaos. It went live on 30 October 2025 across PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Steam. Don’t expect cross-play yet.
What Fox Hunt actually includes
The update adds a self-contained multiplayer suite with two modes that lean into Metal Gear’s hide-and-seek DNA rather than pure deathmatch.
- 12 players online
- Two game types: Survival Capture and Survival Intrude
- Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam)
- Free title update
Konami’s launch brief spells it out: Survival Capture has teams scrambling to secure Kerotan frogs that dwindle over time, forcing clashes. Survival Intrude pushes squads through shrinking zones that demand careful positioning. Both are built around stealth and movement, not just headshots.
New tools: AT-CAMO and “Naked Sense”
To make the cat-and-mouse work, Fox Hunt hands everyone some new toys that echo the campaign’s systems.
- AT-CAMO suit swaps camo patterns on the fly to match terrain
- “Naked Sense” helps detect nearby enemies and items (at a stamina cost)
- Focus on environmental stealth and survival over raw DPS
These mechanics push you to blend rather than brawl. AT-CAMO enables quick disguises so you can melt into foliage or rock; “Naked Sense” gives limited awareness to counter camping and keep matches moving. Expect more ambushes, fewer corner-peeks.
The patch: version, fixes, and PC extras
The mode arrives with a numbered update and a handful of quality-of-life bits—handy if you’re returning on PC.
- Update 1.002.001 adds Fox Hunt
- 21:9 ultrawide support on PC (with some UI/cut-scene 16:9 limits)
- Camera distance lock option (New Style)
- Performance and bug fixes across platforms
It’s not a massive feature dump, but the ultrawide note and stability fixes are welcome. If you bounced off early issues, this is a decent moment to reinstall and squad up.
UAE context: timing, price, and what you need
No separate SKU here—just update and play. The base game remains a full-price release; Fox Hunt is free.
- Live since 30 October 2025 in the UAE as part of the global rollout
- Requires Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater
- Price unchanged; mode included via title update
If you skipped Δ at launch because multiplayer was missing, fair. We covered that decision at the time, and Konami has now filled the gap.
Caveats: cross-play and player pools
There’s one catch: no cross-play at launch. That splits lobbies by platform.
- No cross-platform matchmaking between PS5, Xbox, and PC
- Private matches are possible—just keep them on the same platform
- Watch for future updates if Konami changes stance
Lack of cross-play isn’t ideal for a 12-player stealth mode. It should be fine at launch week, but long-term health will depend on update cadence and whether cross-play appears later. For now, coordinate with friends on the same system.
