Bungie has announced an open preview weekend for its upcoming extraction shooter Marathon, allowing players to try the game free before its March launch. The 'Sever Slam' event runs from February 26 to March 2 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, according to VGC.
What's included in Sever Slam
The preview weekend offers substantial content from Marathon's full experience. Players will access two zones — Perimeter and Dire Marsh — along with opening contracts for five of Marathon's factions. All six Runner Shells will be available, plus solo queue and proximity chat features.
Participants can unlock exclusive rewards for the full game, including a special emblem, player banner, and a tiered gear package containing weapons and body implants. These rewards transfer to the complete version when it launches March 5.
