LG is about to show off a different kind of high-end TV at CES 2026. The Micro RGB evo takes the familiar LCD setup and adds the accuracy of OLED’s processing. The result: ultra-fine control over tiny RGB LEDs, richer colours and smarter picture tuning. It also comes with a refreshed webOS experience that feels more personal and more helpful.
- LG’s first flagship Micro RGB TV arrives at CES 2026
- Powered by the Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3 with Dual Super Upscaling
- Certified for 100% BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB colour
- Uses tiny RGB LEDs with more than a thousand dimming zones
- Sizes: 100, 86 and 75 inches
What’s new with Micro RGB Technology
LG’s Micro RGB evo is the company’s first flagship TV built on tiny individual RGB LEDs rather than the usual MiniLED setup.
- Uses LG’s smallest RGB LEDs to date
- Brings precise control normally found on OLED panels
- Designed for better colour separation and light control
LG has been refining OLED tech for more than a decade, and this TV borrows that precision. By shrinking the LEDs and managing them with the same detailed approach LG uses for its OLED panels, the screen can deliver cleaner edges, smoother gradients and more stable brightness. It’s still LCD at its core, but it behaves far closer to a premium emissive display.
Alpha 11 AI Processor Gen 3
The new processor is the heart of the upgrade.
- Dual AI Engine handles two types of upscaling at once
- Sharpens edges while keeping textures natural
- Designed for both movies and user-generated content
Many LCD TVs improve sharpness, but often overdo it. LG’s Dual Super Upscaling tries to avoid that by splitting tasks across two AI systems. One focuses on clarity, the other on natural textures. The idea is to deliver crisp detail without the plastic look some TVs produce. It should help with everyday streaming as much as high-quality HDR films.
Triple-certified colour accuracy
Colour is the real headline.
- Certified by Intertek for 100% BT.2020
- Also covers 100% DCI-P3 and 100% Adobe RGB
- Addresses the needs of editors, HDR fans and next-gen content creators
Today’s TVs often hit DCI-P3, but 100% BT.2020 coverage is rare. It means the TV can show a wider range of colours, including shades often lost on standard sets. Adobe RGB support is also helpful for photographers and designers who need consistent colour from camera to screen. For people who use their TV as a large creative monitor, this matters more than any flashy marketing term.
Micro Dimming Ultra
Contrast performance gets a lift, too.
- More than 1,000 dimming zones
- Local control avoids halos and blooming
- Reveals subtle details in both bright and dark scenes
LCD panels depend heavily on how well the backlight can dim. Here, the smaller LEDs and tighter control mean brighter highlights without washing out dark areas. It won’t match self-lit OLED pixels, but it should get closer than past attempts.
A more personal webOS
LG also refreshed the software side.
- Voice ID adapts the experience to the person speaking
- AI Picture/Sound Wizard adjusts settings automatically
- “My Page” brings shortcuts to apps, inputs and content
- AI Concierge, AI Chatbot and AI Search help you find info faster
The new interface aims to reduce menu-digging. Voice ID can identify who’s using the TV and shift profiles instantly. AI tools guide setup without the usual calibration jargon. And for UAE households where multiple family members share the TV, having personalised pages should cut down on the “who changed the settings?” arguments.
Sizes and availability
LG’s Micro RGB evo (MRGB95) will ship in 100-inch, 86-inch and 75-inch models. LG will show the series at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, with more regional details expected after the event. We’ll cover UAE pricing the moment LG confirms it, so keep an eye on tbreak.com for updates.
FAQs
What is Micro RGB and how is it different from MiniLED?
Micro RGB uses much smaller RGB LEDs than MiniLED. Because each LED is individually controlled and carries its own red, green and blue elements, colours and brightness can be managed with more accuracy.
Does the Micro RGB evo compete with OLED?
It doesn’t replace OLED, but it tries to bring some of OLED’s precision to LCD. You get higher brightness and less risk of burn-in, but not the pixel-level control of OLED.
What makes the colour performance special?
The TV is certified for 100% BT.2020, DCI-P3 and Adobe RGB. This covers wider colour ranges than most TVs, which helps with HDR films, digital art and photo editing.
Will it support gaming features?
LG hasn’t listed gaming specs in the announcement, but high-end LG TVs usually ship with HDMI 2.1, VRR and low-latency modes. We’ll update once confirmed.
When will the LG Micro RGB evo launch in the UAE?
LG will reveal regional details after CES 2026. Availability often follows a few months later in the Gulf. We’ll share updates on tbreak.com as soon as they’re official.
