LEGO Ideas Godzilla (21375) stands 70cm tall with its Heat Ray and launches in the UAE on 27 November from AED 1,789.

The 5,363-piece set is the largest LEGO Ideas model ever launched. A minifigure reaches only Godzilla’s ankle. It’s also the first LEGO set to feature Godzilla from Legendary’s Monsterverse, the film series behind Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

The set started as a fan build. New York-based designer Matthew Esposito (MattE720) submitted it to LEGO Ideas, where it took more than two years to reach 10,000 votes before the LEGO Ideas Review Board approved it.

The head was definitely the biggest challenge, but seeing the model come together and eventually reach 10,000 supporters after more than two years was incredible.

According to LEGO, the head, arms, legs, and tail all pose, with adjustable shoulders, elbows, wrists, and fingers. The skin is textured with scales, and jagged dorsal fins run down to a sweeping tail you can build curving left or right. For the upward roar, you swap the tongue for an included Heat Ray element. Instructions come through the LEGO Builder app in 3D, so you can zoom, rotate, and track your progress. The finished model is 27cm wide and 40cm long.

LEGO says the AED price is subject to final pricing, and it will sell the set in the UAE through LEGO.me and LEGO Stores. On LEGO.com and LEGO Stores it costs $449.99, £349.99, or €399.99 from the same date. LEGO is pitching it as a Black Friday exclusive and revealed it alongside Godzilla Day on 3 November and the cinema release of Godzilla Minus Zero.

Fans pitch sets like this through LEGO Ideas, where winners get a chance to have their builds made with LEGO’s designers and share in the profits. The Monsterverse has made over $2.5bn since it began in 2014, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, at over $570m, is the highest-grossing Godzilla film. Godzilla x Kong: Supernova is due in 2027.

Buyers from 27 to 30 November also get a gift, while supplies last: the 359-piece LEGO Ideas Godzilla Logo and Footprint (40888). It sets the logo against a cityscape with rival Mothra perched on a building, and adds a brick-built footprint the exact size of the big set’s foot.
