Jeremy Clarkson is going back to cars, sort of. Prime Video has announced a one-off Clarkson’s Farm special called *Jeremy Grows a Car: A Clarkson’s Farm Special*, in which he tries to grow and build his own car from produce raised on Diddly Squat Farm. It arrives in 2027, with no exact date yet.

Amazon describes the project as a world first. Clarkson, frustrated by modern motoring, decides that if he wants a new car he’ll build one rather than buy it.

What he’s building

The base is a Jaguar F-Type V6S, which Clarkson considers the sweet spot between analogue driving thrills and modern practicality. The restoration relies on the farm: Diddly Squat leather for the interior and wool carpets from his own sheep.

The more ambitious part is a crop of flax. Clarkson plans to turn the fibre into a flax composite, pitched as a sustainable alternative to carbon fibre that Prime says has already caught the attention of major car makers.

Helping him is designer Ian Callum CBE, founder of design and engineering firm CALLUM. Callum penned the original F-Type, the Jaguar XK and C-X75, and the Aston Martin Vanquish, DB7 and DB9, according to IGN. The redesigned Jaguar is meant to reflect what Clarkson thinks the brand should stand for: style, luxury and performance.

Production and release

Variety reports that Expectation produces the special, with Andy Wilman, Peter Fincham and Zoe Brewer as executive producers. It streams exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories, a footprint that should include the UAE, though Prime hasn’t published a regional date.

The special also marks a small homecoming. Clarkson made his name on Top Gear and later The Grand Tour, and the BBC programme is itself heading for a reboot, as we covered in our Top Gear revival report. Prime Video’s slate keeps growing too, with Reacher renewed for Season 6.
